Best Energy Drinks For Sex (Set The Mood)

Whether you’re doing the deed, making babies, bumping uglies, boinking, shagging or whatever it is the kids are calling it these days, sex is a normal and healthy part of the human experience and something that we do quite a lot of.

Kissing couple
A 2017 survey found that married couples have sex about one to two times a week.

But where do energy drinks fit into the topic of human copulation? Well, this is what we’ll be covering for this article, plus a few brand recommendations that will surely help you get it on for a hot and steamy night with your significant other.

From my research, I have found that the best energy drinks to get you “in the mood” are Crunk, XS Burn + Energy, NatureWise, and Cloud9. Other more familiar brands include C4 Energy, Aspire, and 3D Energy.

But if you want to learn more about the connection between energy drinks and sex, I suggest you “plow” through ahead for the juicy details.

Sex and Energy Drinks

Sexual intercourse requires high levels of stamina and energy in order to be enjoyable for both partners, so it’s no wonder why some couples may resort to energy drinks to help ensure a long and productive night of passionate love-making.

Bed with legs
Sex burns calories, improves sleep, alleviates stress, and promotes heart health.

Drinking energy drinks to have better sex is definitely not unheard of although I would say it’s not the kind of topic that tends to come up a lot in conversations. Moreover, couples probably prefer to enhance their arousal with a gourmet meal than a cheap can of fizzy beverage.

Unlike with exercise, which is more or less done begrudgingly, sex is more than just a “get in, get out” (or rather a “get it up, get it on”) type of situation, pardon the pun. Most people also probably prefer drinking coffee over canned energy drinks.

Do Energy Drinks Improve Sexual Performance?

Sexual intercourse is an inherently physical activity, similar as some would say to exercise. Having sex is equivalent to exercising. It burns 3.6 calories per minute and can also help increase your stamina. Therefore, any energy drink with a fair amount of caffeine can assist with sexual performance.

Moreover, one study found that regularly consuming caffeine could prevent erectile dysfunction in men. Another study found that caffeine could drastically improve your sex life in general.

Cup of coffee
Drinking two cups of coffee a day can improve your sex drive and prevent erectile dysfunction in men.

Aside from preventing fatigue and improving physical performance, caffeine also improves your mood, putting you in a better headspace for intimate interactions. So theoretically, energy drinks should enhance your coital experience, right?

Experts may disagree.

Caffeine stimulates your nervous system and increases your blood pressure, which may be terrible if you suffer from anxiety, or are particularly nervous about doing the deed. Being aroused may compound this sensation, resulting in profuse sweating, shakiness, and headaches.

So caffeine should not be thought of as a cure-all for sexual dysfunction. It may work for some people, but not all.

Aphrodisiacs and Energy Drinks

From Spanish flies and rhino horns to mandrake root and tiger penis, humans have experimented with various substances to enhance their sexual performance since the dawn of time.

Often a primary ingredient in medieval “love potions” or philters, as they are once commonly known, aphrodisiacs refer to any food or drug that enhances sexual desire and fertility. They used to be a common “bedroom aid” in pre-modern times.

However, with the evolution of science and medicine, gone are the days of eating ground-up beetles and cow testicles to ensure a night of passion. We now have a plethora of FDA-approved medical-grade libido enhancers that are safe for human consumption and 100% effective.

And you want to know what the most popular modern aphrodisiac is? No, it’s not chocolate, or oysters, or champagne. It’s Viagra, specifically a drug known in medical circles as “sildenafil”.

While some experts don’t necessarily like to call it an aphrodisiac, since it doesn’t induce sexual arousal, it checks all the boxes for something that can be typically ingested to improve your intimate experience.

While you won’t find any energy drinks with Viagra in them, since the substance is heavily regulated, some energy drink companies resort to using botanical supplements to help people improve their sex lives.

List of Aphrodisiacs

Scientists have studied various herbal aphrodisiacs from both western and eastern traditional folk medicine and have discovered a few, which have been proven to increase sex drive and enhance sexual performance.

The primary mechanism of these aphrodisiacs is that they induce vasodilation and increase blood circulation to the genitals.

Believe it or not, some energy drink brands contain the following aphrodisiacs, so these ingredients herbs and plants aren’t as rare as you may think.

The aphrodisiacs included in this list are maca, banana, horny goat weed, red ginseng and ashwagandha. Although you may want to look for other ingredients like:

  • damiana
  • L-citrulline
  • gingko bilobo
  • fenugreek
  • saffron
  • tribulus.

Maca

Probably one of the more popular botanical ingredients used to improve one’s sex life, maca, or more specifically maca root (sometimes known as Peruvian ginseng) is a plant that has been traditionally used to improve fertility and sex drive.

Scientific research has proven the aphrodisiac properties of maca root powder. When taken in doses between 1.5 to 5g per day, maca not only increases sexual desire and libido in both men and women, it can also improve your mood, boost your energy and promote male fertility.

Banana

This seems like the prelude to a bad sex joke, but bananas, regardless of their resemblance to a particular male appendage, have been known to improve libido and sex drive.

Banana
This yellow fruit definitely lives up to its suggestive appearance.

Bananas are also a potassium powerhouse, and in case you didn’t know, potassium is responsible for boosting testosterone levels, which is a male hormone that can help you last longer in bed.

So when all else fails, blend yourself up a banana milkshake before your rendezvous to get those juices flowing.

Ginseng

You may notice that there are many types of ginseng, but there are very few species that specifically target libido and sex drive, like red ginseng, which has been traditionally used in Chinese medicine to treat low libido and sexual function in both men and women.

Studies have shown the red ginseng is a powerful aphrodisiac, capable of increasing sexual desire when taken in doses of 3g a day.

Ashwaganda

Sometimes also known as Indian ginseng, this herb is one of the newer botanical supplements that has recently penetrated the Western alternative medicine market.

You may have seen it listed as an ingredient on one of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop products like Sex Dust, although its history and use are much older than that.

Traditionally used in Ayurvedic healing for over 3000 years to treat stress, increase energy, and improve concentration, ashwagandha is a powerful plant that has also been scientifically proven to improve sexual potency in men.

When taken in doses between 450-500mg, ashwagandha can increase testosterone levels and improve sperm quality.

It has also been found to alleviate anxiety and depression as well as increase muscle mass and strength.

Which drink is good for last longer in bed?

While there are many myths and misconceptions about certain foods or drinks that can enhance sexual performance, most of these claims are not backed by scientific evidence.

Excessive consumption of alcohol or other substances can actually decrease sexual performance and stamina. Therefore, it is important to consume alcohol and other substances in moderation or to avoid them altogether if they have a negative impact on sexual performance.

Does energy drink help in long sex?

Energy drinks are not likely to help with sexual performance or stamina during sexual activity. While energy drinks can temporarily boost energy and alertness, they are not specifically designed to enhance sexual function or performance.

In fact, consuming large amounts of energy drinks or other caffeine-containing beverages may have negative effects on sexual performance and overall health. The high levels of caffeine and other stimulants in energy drinks can lead to increased heart rate and blood pressure, which may cause anxiety and nervousness.

What energy drink has Viagra in it?

There are no legitimate energy drinks that contain Viagra or other prescription medications for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Viagra is a prescription medication that is only available through a licensed healthcare provider.

There have been reports of certain energy drinks being adulterated with illegal or harmful substances, including prescription drugs like Viagra, in order to enhance their effects. However, consuming such drinks can be dangerous and potentially lead to serious health problems.

It is important to always read the ingredients label and purchase energy drinks from reputable sources. If you are experiencing difficulties with sexual performance or other health concerns, it is best to speak with a licensed healthcare professional who can provide appropriate treatment and advice.

Conclusion

While resorting to energy drinks for sex hardly seems sophisticated, or even romantic, they could be a life-saver in desperate situations.

However, these brands may only help you in the short term, so you may want to address the underlying issues that are preventing you from “getting it up”, whether it’s medical, psychological, or marital in nature.

In addition, I also recommend some caffeine-free energy drinks as well for those of you who may experience performance anxiety, since these brands can give you energy for lovemaking without the jitteriness that is commonly associated with normal caffeine.

The list I have provided is by no means exhaustive, so you may want to look for other brands with maca, horny goat weed, ginseng, and/or a combination of the aforementioned botanicals in the formula. However, as with all herbal remedies and concoctions, your mileage may vary.
