How Many Calories Are In Bang Energy Drink?

Bang Energy Drink contains 0 calories, meaning that your energy boost mainly comes from its caffeine content.

Given that the recommended daily calorie intake for healthy adults is 2,000 to 2,400 calories for women and 2,400 to 3,000 calories for men, Bang is certainly healthier compared to your conventional sugary energy drink like Red Bull or Monster.

Essentailly, you can have Bang Energy without feeling guilty of having too many calories while satisfying your sweet tooth at the same time.

Plus, since it doesn’t have any calories, Bang makes a great pick-me-up when you need energy to get through an afternoon slump or when you’re working out, without having to worry about the sugar crash that usually comes with sugary energy drinks.

However, as Bang is a zero-calorie beverage, the energy boost wouldn’t be as substantial and would probably leave you feeling peckish after a while.

As it is, Bang isn’t supposed to replace your meals, so you should grab something to eat if you’re hungry instead of going for another can of Bang.

How Much Caffeine Is In Bang Energy Drink?

A 16 fl. oz. can of Bang contains 300mg of caffeine, which is definitely a lot.

Given that most energy drinks average around 160mg of caffeine per serving (such as Rockstar or Monster), Bang is definitely up there as one of the strongest energy drinks on the market, a title it shares with Reign and canned in G Fuel.

That being said, the strongest energy drink in the market at the moment is Spike Hardcore Energy, with 350mg of caffeine per 16 fl. oz, so Bang hasn’t reached that particular level of ridiculousness yet.

Bang uses caffeine anhydrous in its formula instead of regular caffeine, which is basically a powdered version of caffeine. Compared to regular caffeine, caffeine anhydrous is more concentrated, making its effects more potent.

Since Bang Energy is a performance beverage, the elevated caffeine content might actually help in improving physical performance, as many studies have noted that caffeine has ergogenic benefits in sports and exercise performance.

Naturally, you might assume that the more caffeine you consume, the better your performance will become, which isn’t always true, as it usually depends on your overall caffeine metabolism and how well your body can adapt to the stimulant.

As such, the effects of that much caffeine also varies from person to person. For example, if you’re short and small, you might be affected more by the side effects from Bang’s high caffeine content compared someone who’s tall and broad.

Bang Energy’s caffeine content might also affect you in a more pronounced way if you happen to be caffeine-sensitive, whether through environmental or biological reasons.

Of course, when there’s a lot of caffeine involved, we shouldn’t forget about limiting the amount of caffeine we have in a day.

The FDA recommends a daily limit of 400mg of caffeine for healthy adults. Any more than that and you might experience adverse effects such as:

  • Insomnia
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Rapid heart rhythm
  • Restlessness and shakiness
  • Anxiety

Furthermore, with Bang, you can’t consume other caffeinated sources alongside this beverage to avoid overdosing on caffeine. It’ll also be a good idea to spread out your intake of Bang in every week. If you need an extra boost, you can substitute Bang with coffee or tea.

Is There Sugar In Bang Energy Drink?

Bang doesn’t contain any sugar, although it does contain Sucralose, an artificial sweetener.

Sucralose is a zero-calorie sweetener that’s usually sold under the brand ‘Splenda’. Moreover, Sucralose is one of the non-nutritive sweetener that has been approved by the FDA and is safe for use.

Plenty of our everyday foods and drinks like dairy products, canned foods, baked goods and energy drinks contain artificial sweeteners.

Without sugar, Bang will still taste quite sweet since Sucralose is around 400 – 700 times sweeter, thus it’s a perfect drink if you love sweet drinks but you don’t want the extra calories.

Artificial sweeteners like Sucralose are also said to be safe for diabetics as they don’t raise blood sugar levels.

However, this has yet to be confirmed by research and some studies even found that artificial sweeteners still increase the risk of developing certain health issues like obesity and cardiovascular diseases.

From my standpoint, as long as you aren’t consuming food products that contain artificial sweeteners all the time, there shouldn’t be any problems health-wise. To decrease the risk of developing certain diseases in the future, you should have a diet of healthy, natural food coupled with regular exercises.

Does Bang Energy Drink Contain Any Creatine At All?

Bang Energy Drinks don’t actually contain any Creatine, but a proprietary creatine derivative known as Super Creatine, which isn’t exactly the same thing.

If you look through Bang’s ingredients list, you’ll notice that Super Creatine is one of the items on the list, which Bang’s parent company (VPX) claims to be to be the ‘world’s first water-soluble creatine’.

According to VPX, Super Creatine breaks down into Creatine within consumption and will easily be absorbed into bloodstream at a shorter period of time than regular Creatine.

But these claims were eventually refuted by another company, who filed a suit against VPX for the false advertising and marketing of their product, going on to explain that Super Creatine is actually a covalently bonded creatine dipeptide.

So, does this mean Bang doesn’t actually contain any Creatine at all?

In my opinion, Super Creatine is simply marketing fluff on VPX’s side. Whether Bang has Creatine or not, I don’t think that really matters since there’s only trace amounts of Super Creatine in Bang.

Mention on Super Creatine on the back of Bang Energy Drink

If you’re serious about a Creatine intake, I’d suggest going for the actual supplement form of Creatine itself rather than depending on Bang for your daily dose of Creatine.

And for further information about Super Creatine in Bang and what exactly it is, have a look at the article I’ve written on What Is Super Creatine in Bang? for a detailed analysis.

Can I Drink Bang Energy Drink Every Day?

You can drink Bang Energy Drink every day, although moderation is definitely advised so you don’t go over the caffeine limit and give yourself a headache.

To decide if you can drink Bang Energy every day or not, let’s go through some of the advantages and disadvantages of Bang first:

Bang has zero calories and is sugar-free. This means that you’ll less likely gain weight from drinking Bang and you wouldn’t have to worry about disrupting your daily calorific limit either.

With Bang being sugar-free, you wouldn’t be consuming any unnecessary and unhealthy amounts of sugar while still indulging your sweet tooth.

Furthermore, Bang has a high caffeine content that would keep you awake and improve your exercise and cognitive performance when you need a boost.

However, Bang’s elevated caffeine content is also one of its disadvantages as not everyone can consume 300mg of caffeine without experiencing adverse effects. Provided you have a high caffeine metabolism, you wouldn’t feel terribly shaky or jittery compared to those who can’t handle a lot of caffeine.

Moreover, if you go through the warning label at the back of the can, Bang Energy isn’t recommended for everyone, especially pregnant women, individuals under 18 and people who have medical conditions.

If you happen to fall into one of those categories or just have a low caffeine tolerance, Bang isn’t really right for you.

Regarding whether you can drink Bang every day or not, you definitely could if you consume it in moderate amounts.

My advice is to space out your intake of Bang to give your body time to flush all that caffeine out. You must also not forget to drink plain water and other healthy beverages like tea to balance it out.

For more information on the amount Bang Energy Drinks you can have in a day, have a look at the article I’ve written on How Many Bangs Can You Have a Day?, which you’ll definitely find helpful!

Can I drink 2 bangs in a day?

Bang Energy drinks are high in caffeine and other ingredients that, when taken in large quantities, can be harmful. As a result, it is not recommended to consume more than one Bang per day. If you are a healthy adult, one can of Bang Energy drink per day will not harm you.

However, a healthy diet rich in nutrients is still required. Furthermore, lactating and pregnant women, as well as immunocompromised people, minors, and children, should avoid drinking Bang energy drink.

How Often Can You Drink Bang Energy Drink?

In my opinion, you should limit your intake of Bang to only one can per day. Bang’s caffeine content is pretty close to hitting the daily caffeine limit, so sticking to one can in a day would be the most logical step to take.

You can also space out your consumption of Bang by having it once or twice in a week. The best way to have Bang is to only consume it when you need to speed through a very mentally-demanding task or finish extremely strenuous training.

After that, switch over to low-caffeine energy drinks or other caffeinated beverages like tea or coffee.

What are long term effects of drinking Bang?

The long-term consequences of energy drink consumption are unknown. However, some potential side effects include an increased risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and kidney problems.

Pregnant women and children may be especially vulnerable to the effects of caffeine and other stimulants found in energy drinks. As a result, it is generally advised that pregnant women and children avoid consuming energy drinks.

Final Thoughts

As mentioned earlier, the takeaway is that it’s fine to drink Bang Energy every day as long as you consume it in moderation.

That said, if drinking a can of Bang makes you jittery and gives you headaches, you should reduce your intake or switch to other drinks containing smaller amounts of caffeine.

Ultimately, it depends on your caffeine metabolism and whether Bang Energy works for you or not.

I hope this article is helpful and informative, enjoy your day!
