How Many Bang Shots Can You Drink In A Day? (And Other FAQs)

VPX Bang is known throughout the world as one of the best energy drinks and pre-workouts, and for a good reason.

But drinking an entire 16 fl.oz can at once can be a drag, and so VPX released the Bang Shots, which were the world’s very first carbonated energy shots.

A Bang Shot packs all the goodness and power of a regular Bang Energy but in a much smaller and convenient 3 fl.oz serving size. It contains 300 milligrams of caffeine along with Bang’s signature proprietary blend.

So, are you wondering how many of these Bang Shots you can have in a day?

A brief answer to that question would be: You can’t have more than one Bang Shot in a day.

If you’re dissatisfied with just that one sentence and want more details, I highly suggest you read this article to the end because I will also be answering several other FAQs related to Bang Shots.

Let’s go…

How much caffeine is in a Bang Shot?

Due to them having 300mg of caffeine, Bang Shots shouldn't be consumed more than once in a day
Bang Shots have caffeine that is equivalent to 3-4 cups of coffee.

A single Bang Shot contains a whopping 300 milligrams of caffeine.

While this amount of caffeine is much higher than what is found in most energy drinks, it should also be noted that Bang Shots are pre-workouts, and it is normal for pre-workouts to have very high caffeine levels.

Here is a quick comparison of Bang Shots’ caffeine with other highly caffeinated energy drinks:

Energy DrinksCaffeine
Reign300mg
NOS260mg
5-Hour Energy200mg
Celsius Heat300mg
Spike Hardcore Energy350mg
Some highly caffeinated energy drinks.

Caffeine is a psychoactive drug that has many benefits, including:

  • Makes you more alert
  • Increased focus
  • Improved physical performance
  • Helps in weight loss
  • Reduces risk of Type 2 Diabetes
  • Reduces risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases
  • Improved brain function and memory

That said, 300mg of caffeine is a lot. The FDA has deemed 400mg the daily limit for caffeine consumption and consuming any more than said amount can cause you to feel jittery and anxious. But that isn’t all there is to it.

Here are more negative effects of caffeine overconsumption:

  • Headaches
  • Abnormal heart rhythm
  • Insomnia
  • Diarrhea
  • Dehydration
  • Restlessness
  • Dizziness

The main reason we drink energy drinks, and the reason they exist in the first place, is to give us that extra push and energy to make it through a tough day or workout. But consuming more caffeine than you should have the opposite effect.

Therefore, I strongly advise you to limit your caffeine intake to below 400mg.

What does too much caffeine do to our bodies?

Calories in Bang Shots

Bang Shots are virtually free of calories
Some energy drinks haveup to 200 calories in them.

A Bang Shot is free of calories, having only 6 per 3 ounces serving.

Speaking for myself, I usually prefer energy drinks or shots that don’t have many calories in them. With their minimal calorie content, Bang Shots are one such energy shot.

You see, the FDA-recommended calorie intake for an average adult is 2000 calories in a day, although the actual number varies from individual to individual.

Many of us already get more than enough calories from our diets and are probably better off without getting extra ones from energy drinks.

And it is not recommended to consume more calories than one needs because extra calories tend to get stored as fats, which leads to weight gain, and in extreme cases, obesity.

But Bang Shots relieve you of the worry of getting extra calories and putting on some extra pounds of weight. They are great for all lifestyles, be it an active one or a passive one.

Sugar in Bang Shots

Sugar may be sweet, but too much of it could lead to bitter problems
Bang Shots are sugar-free.

Bang Shots are completely free of sugar.

Even though I love energy drinks, one thing about some of them that I dislike is the copious amounts of sugar they contain. Bang Shots, however, are sugar-free, and just this alone makes them safer than most energy drinks or shots that contain sugar.

You see, not only are sugary energy drinks bad for your health, but they can also cause you to experience a crash when their effects run out. And you don’t want a sudden drop in your energy levels when you’re working out, right?

Also, the AHA recommends that men consume no more than 36 grams of sugar in a day, while the recommended amount for women is a maximum of 25 grams.

Since many energy drinks have high sugar contents, consuming them regularly is risky as you’ll probably be consuming more sugar than what is deemed safe. And that will put your health at risk of the following conditions:

  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Cognitive Problem
  • Colon Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Kidney Disease
  • Liver Disease
  • Obesity
  • Pancreatic Cancer
  • Retina Damage
  • Muscle and Nerve Damage

Therefore, I believe that sugar-free energy shots and drinks are the way to go if you’re looking for a regular pick-me-up or something stronger, like a pre-workout.

Artificial Sweeteners in Bang Shots

VPX Bang uses the artificial sweetener Sucralose instead of sugar.

Artificial sweeteners like sucralose are the reason why beverages like Bang Energy and Bang Shots taste so sweet despite having no sugar in them.

You see, Sucralose is a better choice than sugar because it contains little to no calories. Additionally, it is around 500 to 700 times sweeter than regular sugar, so only minuscule amounts are needed to achieve sweetness.

You don’t have to worry about it being dangerous because the FDA has approved Sucralose to be safe for consumption.

Having Sucralose instead of sugar makes Bang Shots safe for diabetic people who can’t tolerate sugar. However, you must still consult your doctor if you have a pre-existing medical condition like diabetes before consuming Bang Shots.

Can you drink Bang Shots every day?

A 3 fl. oz bottle of Bang Shots.
Drinking Bang Shots every day is allowed as long as it is in moderation.

You can drink Bang Shots every day since they are free of sugar and calories and won’t pose any problems in that regard.

It isn’t safe to drink certain energy drinks, like Monster Energy or Rockstar, daily, as they contain large amounts of sugar and calories and would likely cause you to consume a surplus of both.

But with options like Bang Shots around, you don’t have to worry about these things and instead pay attention to achieving the best version of yourself.

There is a catch, though. It would help if you were careful of the caffeine in these energy shots. Consuming 300mg of caffeine all at once is not recommended as it is more than half of the daily limit, and it can increase your heart rate and make you jittery.

Also, it’s not a good idea to continuously subject your body to such high levels of caffeine because your body will be oscillating between very high to normal energy levels. After some time, you might become dependent on caffeine for even routine tasks.

There’s also the small matter that many of us don’t need 300mg of caffeine to feel alert. Such high amounts should be consumed only when you require a hefty increase in performance.

If you’re looking for a casual pick-me-up, then you should consider something with lower levels of caffeine or even no caffeine, and I have an entire article dedicated to helping you find such a drink, so go check it out after you’re done with this one.

How many Bang Shots can you drink in a day?

I mentioned at the start that you could only drink one Bang Shot per day, but I didn’t explain why I said so. But now, I will elaborate on that.

You see, Bang Shots have an absurd amount of caffeine that is 300mg per 3 ounces bottle. This much is 75% of the daily recommended intake of 400mg. You can’t consume more than one because two of these would amount to 600mg of caffeine and is beyond the recommended intake of caffeine.

Such amounts of caffeine are most definitely hazardous for your health and will cause you to suffer the side effects of caffeine, which we have talked about earlier.

And worst, you will be at risk of caffeine overdose if you consume two Bang Shots bottles. And you will experience the following symptoms, like:

  • Dizziness
  • Diarrhea
  • Increased thirst
  • Insomnia
  • Headache
  • Fever
  • Irritability

Moreover, caffeine-sensitive people should avoid Bang Shots because of its high amount of caffeine, which will surely be too much for them to have in one serving. And likely to feel that they consume several servings even if they only consume one.

Besides, you won’t need any more than one of these shots anyway because even one is enough to keep you recharged for a long time.

Therefore, it’s best if you stick to one Bang Shot a day, and avoid drinking any other highly caffeinated beverages as well.

But like I said in the previous heading, it’s not advisable to drink Bang Shots every day. You can do it, but then you’ll have to keep a short leash on your caffeine intake for the rest of the day.

When to drink Bang Shots?

The best time to consume a Bang Shot is around 30-40 minutes before starting your workout or whatever activity you’re using it for.

It’s because caffeine can take around 20-30 minutes to enter the bloodstream and start showing its effects, and around an hour or so to reach peak performance.

Moreover, it’s best to consume Bang Shots around 30-40 minutes prior to when you need the boost so that your energy levels will reach their peak by the time you’re fully engrossed in your work.

Bang Shots’ Flavors

Bang Shots come in the following flavors:

  • Radical Skadattle.
  • Bangster Berry.
  • Birthday Cake Bash.
  • Candy Apple Crisp.
  • Frose Rose.
  • Key Lime Pie.
  • Peach Mango.
  • Purple Haze.

While most flavors are delicious, Bang Shots’ taste is pretty strong because of their concentrated nature. Some people may prefer to have a lighter taste, but you’re gonna love these if you want a more potent flavor profile.

Final Verdict

In conclusion, Bang Shots are a relatively safe option thanks to them being sugar and calorie-free, but they have very high amounts of caffeine, so they should be consumed with caution.

Hence, one Bang Shot in a day is about as much as you can consume. In fact, I would advise you to split a shot into two servings to drink at different times so that you don’t ingest too much caffeine all at once.

Additionally, it is not safe for caffeine intolerant people to consume Bang Shots, and such people should look for options with much less caffeine in them.

But if you are planning to drink these every day, you must carefully monitor your caffeine intake to make sure you’re not going over the limit.
