It’s worth appreciating that there’s information regarding the doses of all active ingredients which is missing in most energy drinks. At least you know what you’re pouring into your stomach and whether those amounts are below the recommended dosage or not.

Make sure you read the label carefully before taking any beverage. It will help you know the presence of any ingredient to which you are allergic.

How Much Caffeine Does Live+ Contain?

Caffeine levels of Live+

The caffeine level of Live+ energy drinks varies based on the serving sizes. A 355 ml serving of this beverage comes with 107 mg of caffeine which is below the recommended dosage of the FDA. As per FDA guidelines, healthy adults should keep their caffeine intake below 400 mg of caffeine a day.

Keep in mind, this amount is only suggested for healthy adults and will not have any adverse effects. However, those with low caffeine tolerance or sensitivity can face the side effects that a healthy adult might face with caffeine doses over 400 milligrams.

Let’s have a look at the side effects of taking too much caffeine:

  • Anxiety
  • Headache
  • Dehydration
  • Racing heartbeat
  • Psychological dependence
  • Sleeplessness

If you’re under 18, a nursing, or a pregnant woman, you should avoid taking any caffeinated beverages.

Sugar Levels Of Live+ Energy

Is Live+ energy drink sugar-free?

Containing 41.9 g of added sugars, Live+ energy drinks are one of the high sugar drinks. Let me tell you that the amount of sugar is more than what health authorities regulate.

The AHA recommends men and women keep their daily sugar intake below 36 g and 24 g, respectively.

Firstly, this drink is unsuitable for those with diabetes or sugar sensitivity. Secondly, taking sugar more than the recommended dosage will lead to health issues.

It’s to be believed that sugar increases your energy levels, however, it’ll further lead to energy drain after an hour or so. Therefore, it’s better to keep your sugar intake as low as possible due to the fact that high sugar consumption might increase your risk of getting type 2 diabetes. Weight gain is another risk that comes along with sugar overconsumption.

As you probably know, people are getting this disease more because they don’t keep a check on their daily intake. It’s better to check the labels before adding anything to your diet.

Is Live+ Energy Drink Sugar-free?

If you don’t want to pour drinks containing high doses of carbs and sugars in your system, you can give Live+ zero a try. This variant has a similar flavor to the original version. Moreover, 250 ml serving of the zero-sugar variant contains only 2 grams of carbs.

There are two artificial sweeteners in this variant; sucralose and acesulfame potassium. Interestingly, both the sweeteners are FDA approved. So, you shouldn’t have concerns about their safety. The only downside to sucralose is that it might raise blood sugar levels of those who’re not used to taking this substitute.

In the case of the original variant, there’s only one artificial sugar; sucrose. Well, in my opinion, there’s no point using this sweetener in the presence of an already high dose of sugar.

Sodium Levels of Live+ Energy Drink

electrolyte content
Sodium is the only electrolyte in Live+ energy drink

In every 355 ml serving of Live+, there’s 51.5 mg of sodium which is considerably lower than your daily requirement. If you follow Harvard’s instructions, you need to take 500 mg of sodium minimum to perform the following functions.

  • Contraction and relaxation of muscles
  • Fluid balance

Sodium is an electrolyte that most pre-workout drinks contain because it helps to recover from long gym sessions. Means, you can use this beverage before any physical activity.

Make sure you’re not going beyond 2.3 grams of sodium in a day from all the sources. Keep in mind if you take more of this electrolyte than the recommended dose, you’re more likely to experience high blood pressure.

Vitamins in Live+ Energy Drink

Live+ has a balanced fusion of both nutrients and nootropics. Two B group vitamins leave a very positive impact on your cognitive performance. Since the amount of vitamin B1 and B3 is very lower, you shouldn’t expect a greater difference from this beverage.

As you can see, these vitamins improve both physical and cognitive performance. So, you can take Live+ before exercising, studying, and gaming.

What Are The Benefits Of Guarana Seed Extract?

Guarana seed is one of those stimulant kinds of caffeine that provides you with more potent effects than regular caffeine. You can say that this energy beverage contains more than two caffeine sources. Every 355 ml serving of Live+ contains 17.8 mg of guarana seed extract.

Let’s have a look at the benefits of guarana;

  • Has antioxidant properties
  • Give focus
  • Reduce fatigue
  • Might improve mood
  • Might increase your learning capacity

If you want to gain better scores on tests, this beverage might help due to the properties of guarana seed extract.

Since there’s no recommended dosage for this stimulant ingredient, it’s not possible to know if you’re consuming the safe dose. However, research has shown that it helps if you keep your intake between 50 to 70 mg.

Panax Ginseng Extract

What does Panax Ginseng Extract do?

You’ll see two variants of this root; Asian and American, and most energy drinks contain Ginseng grown in Korea which is Asian variant. With 355 ml can of Live+, you’ll get 10.7 mg of Panax ginseng extract. Most people with stress take this root because it has the properties to fight off stress.

But side effects might start appearing with the long-term use of this root. Here’s what you may experience;

You’ll have trouble sleeping if you take ginseng near bedtime. So, you should consider the time before taking any beverage containing ginseng. Let me tell you that the side effects you might experience entirely depends on the type of ginseng you’re consuming.

How Many Servings of Live+ Are Safe?

The serving size of the drink is something that decides how many cans of Live+ are enough and will not cause any trouble. Since this drink has three serving sizes, you can choose based on how much caffeine and sugar you can tolerate in a day.

I’ve created this table in order to give you a better idea.

Caffeine150 mg107 mg75 mg
Sugar59 g42 g30 g
Caffeine and Sugar levels of Live+

For me, a 250 ml serving has a moderate dose of sugar and caffeine. However, the sugar dose is still more than what AHA recommends s be mindful while taking it. If you can tolerate more caffeine and want high stimulation, then I’d recommend going with a 355 ml serving. It’s worth noting that you shouldn’t take more than one can a day as the brand also recommends the same.

Is Live+ Energy Drink Vegan?

Undoubtedly, Live+ energy drinks are vegan and don’t contain a hint of animal-based products. Sometimes, brands make wrong statements to increase their sales. But that’s not the case with Live+ and it lives up to its claims.

After seeing all the ingredients, it’s evident that this beverage is vegan-friendly. Caffeine, guarana, and ginseng are ingredients that come from plants and can never be non-vegan.

So, if you follow a vegan diet, Live+ might be an ideal fit for your daily caffeine needs.

Conclusion

Overall, Live+ is a good-tasting drink that is only available in New Zealand. So, if you live in other countries you might not be able to access this drink.

Except for sugar, all the ingredients are in safe dosages and will not cause any serious problems. The only thing that you should consider is the time of taking this drink. I’d not recommend consuming it in the evening or at night or it might keep you awake.

Whether you want to take it as a pre-workout or before brain-related tasks, it has ingredients that work for both causes.

Give yourself a treat with an amazing-tasting energy drink!
