Each 16 fluid ounce drink of Reign energy contains an astounding 300mg of caffeine.

For comparison, Nos Energy and RedBull contain 160mg.

The FDA recommends having no more than a maximum of 400mg of caffeine in a day.

Drinking even a fraction above one 16-ounce drink will make you hit the limit and lead to some nasty side effects.

Side Effects of Caffeine

Most side effects caused by Reign originate from its caffeine content. For people who are sensitive to caffeine, even one drink could make them suffer from the following health effects:

  • Restlessness and shakiness
  • Insomnia
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Rapid or abnormal heart rhythm
  • Dehydration

Long Term Side Effects of Caffeine

Drinking Reign regularly and for extended periods can cause long-term damage, for example:

Anxiety: Caffeine causes the release of adrenaline, which is responsible for making you feel jittery and nervous, which are effects usually associated with anxiety. If taken long-term, you will have anxiety even if you avoid drinking Reign.

Insomnia: Excessive use of caffeine can cause you sleepless nights or worsen existing insomnia. Avoid having Reign during the night to avoid this.

Caffeine Dependency: Drinking Reign daily can cause a caffeine addiction. This can lead you to be unable to function properly without having had a caffeine boost.

Is Reign energy drink addictive?

Reign Similarly, the psychological stimulation from energy drinks may become a habit. They may get dependent on the beverages because they believe they cannot function normally without them.

From a psychological point of view, energy drinks may be just as addicting. Some individuals get dependent on energy drinks because they believe they can’t function normally without them.

It is suggested that those who take a considerable quantity of caffeine everyday avoid stopping cold turkey, and instead ease off of caffeine slowly due to the similarity between the withdrawal effects associated with quitting caffeine and those connected with quitting drugs and alcohol, which may be quite upsetting for some people.

When should I drink Reign?

Green coffee bean extract in Reign Total Body Fuel, taken 30 minutes before exercise, ensures top performance throughout your workout.

It takes around 10 minutes for the caffeine in an energy drink to begin circulating in the blood after consumption. Your blood pressure and heart rate increase. the point at which your blood concentration of caffeine is at its highest.

Is Reign like pre-workout?

In order to keep going throughout a strenuous exercise, REIGN Total Body Fuel has a number of advantages such as being a pre-workout. Their 300 mg (plant-based) caffeine gives you a boost before your exercise and keeps you going the whole time.

Reign, with 300 mg of caffeine and zero grams of sugar per 16 ounces, is one of the promising energy drinks today. They use the artificial sweetener Sucralose since they claim to have 0 grams of sugar yet still need to sweeten the drink.

Artificial Sweeteners in Reign

Reign energy uses artificial sweeteners instead of natural sugar to enhance its drinks’ flavors.

Acesulfame Potassium and Sucralose have been given a green light by the FDA and other government organizations all over the world as safe ingredients to be added in foods and beverages.

While not many studies have been conducted on these, Sucralose’s health effects are hotly-debated to this day.

Just to be sure, moderate your intake of Reign.

Sucralose

Sucralose is 600 times sweeter than regular sugar. Its popularity has gradually grown over the years because of its great taste and zero-calorie content.

Athletes and fitness enthusiasts, in particular, find the addition of Sucralose in place of sugar to be healthier.

Acesulfame Pottasium

While not as strong as Sucralose, Ace-K is 200 times sweeter than sugar. It is usually blended with sucralose to mask the former’s bitter aftertaste.

No research on humans has shown Ace-K to be unsafe and it has been declared by the FDA for decades as “generally regarded as safe”.

Is Reign Healthy?

I wouldn’t really call any energy drink at all as healthy, since their primary goal is to provide an energy boost through caffeine.

However, all things considered, Reign contains a low 10 calories, an amount you can easily burn off. Its use of artificial sweeteners instead of sugar also means that you are free from the side effects that come with large amounts of sugar.

Based on those two aspects, I can say that Reign is safe to consume. But as I mentioned earlier, its high caffeine content is a big no-no for me.

300mg is quite a lot and may not be safe for everyone to consume, so in my opinion, Reign is not exactly healthy.

How Many Cans of Reign Can You Have in a Day?

I recommend not having more than one can of Reign in a single day. While many disregard the limits set by experts, keeping within the range of 400mg is advised.

While it is true that caffeine affects everyone differently and not everyone will suffer after drinking more than one Reign, a general limit allows you to stay completely safe.

Caffeine addiction and insomnia are some of the most common problems faced by many today, limiting your intake of Reign can help you avoid these. I personally take one can per day and it’s already a bit too much for me.

To be honest, I think even a half can of Reign is already strong.
