How Much Caffeine Does Rip It Contain?

Each can of Rip It comes with two servings and a single serving contains 80 milligrams of caffeine which is equivalent to what you get from Red Bull.

Fortunately, the amount of caffeine is very moderate and doesn’t intend to build a caffeine tolerance. It’s worth noting that when you start taking a higher caffeine dosage, you become prone to getting dependent on stimulation and the absence of which will leave you without energy even to do minor daily tasks..

However, you won’t face any such issues with the Rip It drink. The amount of caffeine in a can will be 160 mg which might be a higher dosage for some. If you can’t tolerate this much caffeine, you’re more likely to face a caffeine crash.

Rip It Energy Drink Caffeine Content

The FDA recommends a safe dosage of 400 mg of caffeine for daily consumption. Keep in mind, this dosage is only suitable for healthy adults.

If you exceed this limit, you might face the following symptoms:

When you’re consuming Rip It, you shouldn’t take caffeine from other sources.

Does Rip It Contain Sugar?

Rip It comes in both sugar-free and sugared variants, so you can choose based on your preference. Some energy beverages are not available in sugar-free versions, which makes them unsuitable for diabetics and those with sugar sensitivity.

sugar
Sugar Content Of Rip It

Each serving of Rip It has 26 grams of added sugar. Interestingly, the dose of sugar is below what the American Heart Association regulates for men but not for women. So, if ladies out there are taking this beverage then you must keep its sugar content in mind.

As per AHA guidelines, men and women need to keep their sugar intake below 36 grams and 24 grams respectively.

You’re probably aware that a higher dosage of sugar can lead to diabetes and other health problems. If you’re an avid energy drink consumer, this is where you get most of the sugar in a day. The best way to keep a balance on your intake is to opt for sugar-free versions of energy drinks.

Artificial Sweeteners

Both the variants of Rip It come along with a common artificial sweetener, sucralose. There is also an additional sugar substitute, acesulfame potassium, in sugar-free flavors.

It is not acceptable to add artificial sugars in the presence of added sugar because why would you! It won’t add any desirable flavor but will provide an artificially sweet taste.

It makes sense in the case of sugar-free drinks to contain artificial sweeteners as they make them taste less bitter. Artificial sweeteners are sweeter than added sugar, so you might find these drinks overly sweet.

Overall, sucralose and Ace K are two of the six artificial substitutes that are FDA-approved and safe to consume through supplements.

Taurine Levels of Rip It Energy Drink

Taurine is an amino acid that most energy drinks contain because it leaves very subtle effects opposite to caffeine. Each serving of Rip It contains 1000 milligrams of taurine.

This dose of taurine is below the safe dosage which is 3000 milligrams. Let’s see what benefits taurine may offer;

  • This amino acid has a major role in the management of diabetes.
  • Effective for high blood pressure.
  • May boost your athletic stamina.
  • The antioxidant properties of this amino acid may benefit your eyes.

A study shows that when you take a combination of a higher dose of taurine and a lower dose of caffeine, it promotes sleep. If you feel sleepy after taking this energy drink, it might be due to this combination.

You shouldn’t go beyond the safe dose of taurine or you might face symptoms such as headache and vomiting.

Guarana Seed Extract

A guarana seed extract has a great portion of stimulants such as caffeine. As per the study, 70% of the production of this Brazilian plant is used in energy drinks. An 8 fl. oz. serving of Rip It comes along with 3 milligrams of guarana.

The benefits of this seed make Rip It beverage a suitable choice for those who want to improve mental and physical performance. Here are a few of the benefits;

  • Similar antioxidant properties to green tea
  • Helpful for fatigue
  • Improve your focus
  • Increase your learning capacity
  • Relief from pain

You should keep your guarana consumption below 75 milligrams. It’s worth noting that higher doses of guarana can cause similar side effects to caffeine such as headache, nausea, and anxiety.

Vitamins in Rip It Energy Drink

There are three C and B group vitamins in Rip It energy drink. These nutrients perform numerous functions including providing you with clean energy.

On the label, there is no information regarding the number of vitamins, but how much they contribute to daily value.

The best part about Rip It is that it doesn’t contain a long list of vitamins. These three vitamins are commonly found in energy drinks due to these functions.

Calorie Levels of Rip It Energy Drink?

The original variant of Rip It comes along with 100 calories per serving. There are two servings in a single can, so there’ll be 200 calories in total. If you don’t prefer a high-calorie beverage, there are drinks available in the market with low calories and the same amount of stimulants and nutrients.

The calorie limit for men is 2500, while women are recommended to consume 2000 calories.

If you also want to keep your calorie levels low, I would advise you to go for a calorie-free variant of Rip It. It will help you follow a low-calorie diet plan.

Sodium Levels of Rip It

sodium
How much sodium is in Rip It?

A 240 ml serving of Rip It contains 75 mg of sodium which is a considerable amount. Let me tell you that it’s an electrolyte that all pre-workout drinks contain.

It’s no secret that sodium has many health benefits. For instance, it helps balance fluids in your body. That’s why it’s the most used electrolyte by athletes.

Research shows that active athletes lose a significant dose of sodium, therefore, they need to maintain it. One of the ways to fulfill sodium deficiency is through Rip It.

The daily limit of sodium, which isn’t associated with any side effects, is below 2300 mg. In case you exceed this suggested amount, you’re more likely to experience high blood pressure.

How Many Servings of Rip It Can You Have In A Day?

Every can of Rip It contains two servings. In my perspective, those with high caffeine tolerance can take an entire can in a day. But if you are new to caffeinated beverages you must not exceed from one serving i.e. half a can.

You’re probably wondering how long you can keep an opened can. There won’t be an issue if you keep an open can for one or two days as long as it tastes good. However, there won’t be any carbonation left in the beverage soon after opening. Be sure to store it in the fridge.

If you want to consume a can (two servings), it’d be better to finish them in two sittings.

Conclusion

I would rate this drink 7 out of 10.

Overall, it’s a great drink that offers a variety of flavors. Both sugar and no sugar drink lines have a wide range to choose from.

Whether you want to take it as a pre-workout or gaming supplement, the right fusion of electrolytes and nutrients serves both causes.

I like the Power the most among all the flavors. This variant has a nice melon flavor. If you buy it from Amazon, it’ll cost you more than double the original price. You can get them for a dollar from the dollar store so make sure to make an intelligent purchase.
