Is Rogue Energy Diet-Friendly?

Fear of energy drinks: unnecessary fats
Most fear energy drinks because it might contribute to unnecessary fats

Rogue energy is known to be a diet-friendly beverage. It is an incredibly healthy option if you’re considering your health. It is gluten-free, sugar-free, and has a minimal calorie content.

Is Rogue Energy Gluten-Free?

Gluten is a portion of food found mainly in wheat, barley, rye, triticale, and some processed foods. The purpose of gluten is to manage celiac the signs and symptoms of celiac disease and other gluten-related health conditions.

However, too much consumption of gluten or any food products that contain gluten may lead to serious side effects, which ranges from mild to severe;

  • Abdominal Inflammation
  • Fatigue
  • Bloating
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Unintentional Weight Loss
  • Malnutrition
  • Intestinal Damage

Studies have shown that the safe threshold for daily gluten consumption only ranges from 10-20mg, and anything more than that leads to potential health risks.

Sugar-Free

Rogue is sugar-free. Yet, it does contain artificial sweeteners.

Artificial Sweetener is a sugar-substitute product. The AHA gave the nod for the use of artificial sweeteners in food, beverages, and others. Moreover, FDA has approved five artificial sweeteners that can be used, and these are the following:

  • Saccharin
  • Acesulfame
  • Aspartame
  • Neotame
  • Sucralose

Rogue energy contains Sucralose. Artificial sweeteners may help with the weight loss process.

While that may sound great, still take it in moderation. Excessive artificial sweeteners may lead to some health hazards like tooth decay, poor nutrition, a bumped triglyceride level, and worse, developing a tumor within the body.

How Many Calories Are In Rogue Energy?

Depending on the flavor, the calorie content of Rogue ranges from 0-5 calories.

Research shows that the average calorie intake for most women is 2,000 calories per day and 2,500 calories a day for most men, so Rogue being a low-calorie alternative to the often sugary fare you find off the shelves is a definite plus.

That being said, do be aware that its lack of calories does mean Rogue isn’t providing with any actual ‘energy’, with the main boost coming from the caffeine instead.

As such, while a serving of Rogue may make you feel energized, it certainly won’t stop the hunger pangs, so be sure to have a meal instead of reaching for Rogue during proper meal times.

How Much Caffeine Does Rogue Have?

The caffeine content in Rogue Energy varies from its flavors. Generally, its caffeine content is within 175-300mg.

Caffeine is definitely the star in an energy drink, helping to keep you awake, along with a host of other benefits such as improved reactions and increased cognitive function while fatigued.

However, if your body cannot tolerate high amount of caffeine, Rogue energy may not be the best choice, especially their extreme version which nearly doubles the standard caffeine content (175mg vs 300mg)

Remember, the max caffeine intake per day set by the FDA is 400mg, which is roughly 4 cups of brewed coffee. Exceeding that limit may lead to side effects such as:

  • Restless
  • Jitteriness
  • Insomnia
  • Rapid Heart Rate
  • Dizziness
  • Dehydration( Caffeine is a diuretic)

As such, be sure to only have the recommended serving of Rogue Energy, and stay well within your caffeine tolerance for the day by avoiding any other sources of caffeine, such a coffee, tea or sodas.

What Doe Rogue Energy Taste Like?

Rogue Energy is very much what you expect from a powdered energy drink, which is mostly caffeinated flavored water, which is great if you’re not too fond of fizzy drinks.

Rogue has a mostly fruit-based flavor pool, so if you’re looking for anything more exotic then that, you’ll probably need to start looking somewhere else.

The best among these flavors are the Watermelon and Grape Popsicle, as you can already taste the fruity flavor in them.

However, one Rogue flavor stood up among all the flavors because of its bitter and terrible taste; Cherry Limeade. It didn’t quite sit well with me, but your mileage may vary.

Some people have also reported the drink as having a strange, artificial sweetener after-taste, which might definitely irk you if you’re sensitive to those sort of flavors.

Final Verdict (8 out of 10)

Rogue Energy Grape Popsicle.
The final verdict on Rogue Energy.

Rogue energy is probably one of the better energy drinks you can find, and is definitely a solid drink if you feel like you need a little bit extra throughout your day.

An energy drink jam-packed with many benefits with plenty of flavors to choose from, Rogue is definitely a top contender for the best powdered gaming energy drink, right alongside Sneak and G Fuel.

But remember, Rogue is not a medicative product. It’s at most a supplement th at. boosts your energy and alertness, aiding you in performing your daily tasks to certain extent, not unlike a cup of tea or coffee.

Moreover, I’ve got an experience where I was given an energy flavor that I didn’t choose on the delivery and shipping side. But I think Rogue is improving on this aspect.

Another thing is its price, well, actually for me, it’s pretty affordable for me considering the benefits and supplements you get from it. However, to some consumers, $33 might be a little pricey for a tub of energy drink.
