Key Ingredients

If you want to dive deeper, here are the details of some important ingredients found in Rowdy Energy Drink. These are all good for you in moderation.

Electrolyte Blend

You’ve probably heard of electrolyte drinks, but did you know that energy drinks also have that function? Yes, the effects and dosages are minimal, but it’s enough to supplement you with some great benefits when you work out. Some of these are Potassium Citrate, Sodium Citrate, and Magnesium Citrate.

Rowdy isn’t an exception. Listed below this are the few ingredients Rowdy can offer to replenish your lost electrolytes when sweating too much from a daily workout, or even going through a tough and tiring day.

Potassium Citrate

Potassium Citrate works as medicine, helping the body manage uric acid and your kidneys. Also, it prevents metabolic problems in the kidneys and helps prevent gout. it’s highly useful for treating kidney problems and improving your overall health.

Sodium Citrate

Sodium citrate decreases urine acidity. It helps prevent kidney stones and gout. It increases metabolism too, especially if you suffer from kidney issues. Plus, it helps remove toxins from your body to keep you healthy.

Magnesium Citrate

A magnesium citrate solution is commonly used to treat intestinal problems like constipation. Magnesium citrate regulates metabolism and toxins. Additionally, it’s used as a laxative to stimulate bowel movements.

The contents of this ingredient may also contain some side effects, including abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, and bloody stools. Keep your body healthy by consuming as little Rowdy Energy drink as possible.

Energy Blend

Energy Blends (EB) are the concoctions manufacturers make to give you that good boost in every energy drink. The most common energy blend, according to this study, is caffeine. While this is of course true, we’ll focus more on the other ingredients, like L-Teanine, Gum Arabic, Citric Acid, and Malic Acid, that can help you go through your day with enough energy.

L-Theanine

The amino acid L-theanine is found in mushrooms and tea leaves. The amino acid helps your body to deal with anxiety, depression, and insomnia. It contributes to Rowdy’s ability to stabilize caffeine’s effects on the body, making it a perfect combination with caffeine.

Gum Arabic

Acacia trees are a common source of Gum Arabic. It includes dietary fiber, an antioxidant that works as a stabilizing agent. This helps you feel full and control your calorie intake. The FDA has approved a limit of 30 mg per day for its consumption.

Rowdy Energy drink contains unknown amounts of Gum Arabic. By regulating your overall consumption, you can improve your health and wellbeing.

Citric Acid

Citrus acids can easily be found in citrus fruits like limes and lemons. It’s usually used as a cleaning agent, food additive, or nutritional supplement.

Citrus acid is beneficial to our health. After consumption, it makes you feel energetic and always active since it improves your body’s ability to absorb energy.

Malic Acid

Malic Acid is a natural component of fruits and wines, and it’s also used in medicine. It’s primarily used in Rowdy as a flavoring agent.

The ability of Malic Acid to convert the food you eat into energy is one of its notable characteristics. It reduces fatigue and improves performance.

Rowdy Energy Drink Caffeine Content

Never go crazy on caffeine!

160mg of caffeine is present in every 16 ounce serving of Rowdy Energy Drinks.

Having a fairly high caffeine metabolism allows you to handle this caffeine well.

Although, I prefer between 50mg and 100mg of caffeine to prevent caffeine dependency and crashes.

The FDA recommends a caffeine consumption limit of 400 mg per day. Consuming too much caffeine is associated with severe side effects, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Addiction and Dependency
  • Dizziness
  • Dehydration
  • Insomnia
  • Restlessness
  • Headaches
  • Stomachaches

Getting the most out of Rowdy Energy would require managing consumption. If you want to avoid the sugar and caffeine side effects of Rowdy Energy, I’d recommend sticking with just one can a day.

Sugar Content Of Rowdy Energy Drink

The Rowdy Energy drink contains 18 grams of sugar per 16 fl. oz.

While it provides some natural refreshment, I normally prefer to switch to sugar-free drinks as they seem more beneficial.

As per the AHA recommendation, sugar consumption for women should be limited to 25g, while for men it should be limited to 36g.

One container of Rowdy energy drink is less than 7 grams short of the maximum amount of sugar for women, so limiting its consumption per day is highly recommended.

If you consume too much sugar from the energy drink, you may experience the following unpleasant consequences:

  • Acne
  • Obesity
  • Weight Gain
  • Type II Diabetes
  • Sugar crashes
  • Increased risk of heart disease
  • Tooth decay
  • Kidney damage
  • Increased risk of depression

Calories in Rowdy Energy Drink

Rowdy energy drinks contain 90 calories per serving. I think it’s fairly average compared with the 240 and 122 calories in Monster and Rockstar energy, respectively.

Calories provide energy for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Your body uses calories to perform various activities throughout the day.

It’s recommended that between 2,000 and 2,500 calories are more than enough that you needed for a day depending on your activity level, biological factors, and even metabolism.

Vitamins in Rowdy Energy Drink

Vitamins are a vital component of a healthy diet.

Rowdy energy drink contains vitamin C and essential B vitamins, including niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6), and cyanocobalamin (B12). Below is a list of their functions and roles in your body:

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an important vitamin that significantly contributes to the maintenance of health in the body. Fruit and vegetables are generally high in Vitamin C.

It’s recommended that women should take 75mg, and men should take 90mg doses daily, according to the National Institute of Health.

Also, it helps you control your blood pressure and prevents the risk of chronic diseases. And, it lowers the possibility of heart problems and boosts your immunity.

Vitamin B3 (Niacin)

Niacin helps your body transform food into energy. It also acts as an antioxidant. The upper tolerable intake of niacin is 16mg for men and 14mg for women per day, while Rowdy contains only 3mg of it.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)

Pyridoxine prevents the possibility of anxiety and elevates your mood. It also improves mental health. Pyridoxine has an upper tolerable intake of 100mg for men and women per day, but Rowdy has just 0.32mg.

Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin)

Cyanocobalamin supports bone health, as well as red blood cell formation. It also relieves depression and improves moods. Rowdy contains only 0.45mcg of cyanocobalamin and it has no recommended daily tolerable intake.

Additional Sweeteners In Rowdy Energy Drink

Rowdy energy drinks have regular sugars as well as non-nutritive sugars including both allulose and erythritol. In the presence of sugar, it appears a bit unnecessary to add artificial sweeteners to the drink.

Allulose

A sweetener, Allulose is also known as D-Psicose. It’s generally not found in food, and even though it’s a lump of natural sugar, it behaves like fructose, meaning it has no effect on your insulin levels or blood sugar levels.

Allulose is an effective blood sugar controller and a prevention tool for diabetes and other serious diseases. Also, Allulose contributes to the preservation of your body’s beta cells, leading to higher insulin production. So, it can prevent obesity and fat storage that results in weight gain.

In case you are still concerned about the safety of consuming Allulose, you need not worry, as it has been rated as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration).

Erythritol

Another calorie-free sweetener, Erythritol is as sweet as sugar. The sweetener is used as a low-calorie sweetener, and according to one study, it’s safe to consume in small quantities without the risk of causing harm.

If you’re health-conscious, erythritol is a great sweetener since it has no effect on blood sugar levels or insulin levels. It’s important to note that this ingredient poses very few adverse effects since it’s mainly excreted in the urine, but too much can cause diarrhea.

Stevia Extract

Stevia, a natural sweetener, contains no calories. This has no impact on your sugar levels, and it’s definitely helpful if you are trying to lose weight.

Since stevia content in Rowdy Energy Drink is unknown, it might be best for you to regulate your consumption.

Monk Extract

Monk extract sweetener is a calorie-free, natural sweetener, derived from monk fruit. It’s more commonly known as Buddha fruit in Southeast Asia.

It contains Mogrosides, special antioxidants, making it 100 to 250 times sweeter than regular sugar, and has zero calories.

With the combination of caffeine and L-theanine, Rowdy energy drink can give you a powerful boost to get through the day.

Overall Review of Rowdy Energy Drink (8 out of 10)

It’s, in my opinion, a solid 8/10 energy drink. This drink can be described as classic, refreshing, fun-filled, and bursting with power. The drink also makes me feel relaxed.

However, it’s important to manage your consumption. The sugar content is slightly high, so it may cause unwanted side effects. Personally, I don’t prefer energy drinks that contain more than 100mg of caffeine.

You are most likely to receive the maximum benefit from a serving of Rowdy if you combine it with a healthy diet and regular physical activity.
