They are usually used as a substitute for sugar in food for those who suffer from diabetes or want to lose weight.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sucralose (also known as Splenda) has a reputation for being <a href=\"https:\/\/foodinsight.org\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-sucralose\/\">600 times<\/a> sweeter than sugar. Given that it&rsquo;s a zero-calorie artificial sweetener, you won&rsquo;t have to worry about adding any more calories to your food and beverage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, HFCS is known for being derived from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/food\/food-additives-petitions\/high-fructose-corn-syrup-questions-and-answers\">corn starch<\/a> and has a large amount of fructose (fruit sugar). The amount of fructose vary between formulas, but it&rsquo;s most commonly between 42 and 55 percent of fructose.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As of the writing, they are both considered safe by the FDA,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what&rsquo;s wrong then?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some<a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/nutrition\/sucralose-good-or-bad#gut-health\"> studies <\/a>show that Sucralose might disrupt the balance of your gut bacteria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your gut bacteria play a significant role in metabolizing nutrients in your body. It also serves as a barrier against infections, produces vitamin K, and helps in making blood-clotting proteins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, HFCS can increase your chances of fatty liver disease since processing this type of fructose results in more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/nutrition\/why-high-fructose-corn-syrup-is-bad#1.-Adds-an-unnatural-amount-of-fructose-to-your-diet\">liver fat<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While these scientific facts are true, we&rsquo;re still uncertain of <strong>how much either of these substances is in a can of NOS Energy.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So even though seeing them in the ingredients list isn&rsquo;t a reason to panic but it&rsquo;s definitely a reason to be careful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Caffeine_Content_in_NOS\"><\/span>Caffeine Content in NOS<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A 16 fl.oz can of NOS has 160mg of caffeine. So drinking half a can according to the recommended serving size will give you 80mg of caffeine.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>According to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/consumers\/consumer-updates\/spilling-beans-how-much-caffeine-too-much#:~:text=For%20healthy%20adults%2C%20the%20FDA,it%20(break%20it%20down).\" target=\"_blank\">FDA<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/healthy-lifestyle\/nutrition-and-healthy-eating\/in-depth\/caffeine\/art-20045678#:~:text=Up%20to%20400%20milligrams%20(mg,two%20%22energy%20shot%22%20drinks.\">t<\/a>he maximum amount of caffeine you should be having is 400mg a day<\/strong>. So what happens if you go over that 400mg recommended serving size?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caffeine is important in the potency and effectiveness of NOS Energy, so knowing the caffeine content in any food or beverage you take would be helpful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/nutrition\/caffeine-side-effects\">side effects<\/a> of drinking too much caffeine are:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Anxiety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Insomnia&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digestive issues&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Muscle breakdown<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Addiction<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High blood pressure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Palpitations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fatigue<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Frequent urination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Developing insomnia is especially alarming since sleep deprivation can greatly affect your productivity during the day. Slow reaction times, constant fatigue, moodiness are also equally bad.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&rsquo;t get me wrong. Caffeine and its side effects are absolutely things you should keep an eye out for. Too much coffee or any substitute can bring long-term effects on your body. &nbsp;Make sure that you know your limits and do your research when trying out new products. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While caffeine has its negative effects, it also proposes <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/food-recipes\/features\/pros-and-cons-caffeine-craze\" target=\"_blank\">benefits<\/a> if taken in moderation: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Improved energy levels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Better short-term memory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Better reaction times<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improved mental ability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If this is what you&rsquo;re looking for in your caffeine fix, then NOS might be what you need. Based on caffeine content alone, anything from a quarter to a full can (depending on your metabolism) would be enough.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_Drink_NOS\"><\/span><strong>Why Drink NOS?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOS&rsquo; high sugar makes it great for a quick pick-me-up.&nbsp; <\/strong>There&rsquo;s no denying that it gets the job done.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Put that together with the caffeine, and you&rsquo;ll definitely be running like a race car.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can always check the label to know what you&rsquo;re in for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are ways to monitor your caffeine and sugar intake. You can have a digital scale to weigh your products or use Splenda as a sweetener.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> In some cases, you can ask for less sugar or get a decaffeinated drink if you&rsquo;re worried about not being able to sleep. It&rsquo;s all about being conscious of what you put into your body. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_much_energy_drink_is_safe\"><\/span><strong>How much energy drink is safe? <\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you want to drink energy drinks, don&rsquo;t drink more than one normal energy drink, or 16 ounces (473 ml), each day, and cut down on other caffeinated beverages as well. There is no safe level of consumption for children, adolescents, pregnant or nursing women, thus they should all stay away from energy drinks.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Excessive energy drinks are a vicious circle of destruction. Your inability to get a good night&rsquo;s rest is a direct result of the energy drinks you&rsquo;ve been drinking to perk up in the morning, so you spend the day feeling sluggish in addition to the need for a new boost of energy. Further, the sugar content in energy drinks might lead to addiction and weight gain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Personal_Opinion\"><\/span><strong>Personal Opinion&nbsp;<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOS is an energy drink with normal amounts of caffeine but has a lot of sugar, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A single can of NOS gives you 200% of the vitamins per serving. That doesn&rsquo;t sound bad the first time you hear it, but it&rsquo;s far from desirable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The good news is, the large amounts of vitamins 12 and B6 are less likely to bring health risks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These vitamins are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsph.harvard.edu\/nutritionsource\/vitamin-b6\/\">water-soluble<\/a> and won&rsquo;t have adverse effects on the body. Plus, you can immediately get them out of your system by urinating. It would help to drink 8 to 10 glasses of water, as recommended.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless, drinking a whole can every day may cause serious heart and blood vessel problems if you&rsquo;re not cautious about your diet<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This, however, doesn&rsquo;t mean that you can&rsquo;t have NOS Energy in your morning routine. With proper exercise and a healthy diet, you can consume any food that you want as long as you know your limits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can safely drink a maximum of half a can on NOS (8 fl.oz) in a day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You&rsquo;ll also be less likely to consume too much sugar if you cut down to 27g through the serving size. But as mentioned, that might still be too much depending on various factors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&rsquo;s why I&rsquo;m of the opinion that half of that (4 fl.oz) in a day would be better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, I&rsquo;m not a doctor so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
