We all know about X-Gamer by now, whether you’re a fan of video games or not, it’s come up a lot in recent conversations about energy drinks, and for good reason. The e-Sports industry has exploded in popularity in recent years, especially among young adults and teens, and with it the energy drink business.
According to the official, website, X-Gamer is an “advanced, effective and innovative focus and energy formula perfected exclusively for esports, semi-professional and enthusiast gamers.”

But does X-Gamer really work? And how exactly does it live up to the rest of the competition?
In my opinion, X-Gamer has safe ingredients, but some unnecessary and inconclusive ones like the multivitamins and nootropics. It is healthier than other drinks because of its low-sugar nutrition content, but because of the 200mg of caffeine it has, you should not drink more than one serving a day, nor should you be drinking it every day.
So without further ado, let’s get into the X-Gamer review.
X-Gamer Caffeine and Ingredients
X-Gamer contains an energy booster (caffeine), a sweetener (sucralose), supplements (vitamins and nootropics), preservatives (ascorbic and citric acid), and electrolytes (dextrose monohydrate). Here’s a full list of ingredients for you:
- Dextrose monohydrate
- Vitamin and Minerals Complex
- Malic acid
- Citric acid
- Ascorbic acid
- Colorings (E133, E162, E163, E129, E102, E104, E160a, E150a),
- Sweetener (sucralose)
The main and only energy booster in X-Gamer is caffeine, which is not a surprise coming from an energy drink. A single serving of X-Gamer contains over 200mg of caffeine.
Caffeine has been proven to stave off fatigue, improve physical and mental performance, enhance mood and memory, and even prevent neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s.
However, as a caveat, caffeine also leads to addiction and tolerance which basically results in you needing to consume more and more of it feel its effects. Moreover, too much caffeine at one point can lead to some nasty side effects like:
- frequent urination
X-Gamer contains only 0.2g of sugar per serving, possibly from the maltodextrin and dextrose monohydrate. However, its main sweetener is sucralose, or Splenda which is a popular sugar substitute in many energy drinks and certified safe by the FDA for human consumption.
The main purpose of sweeteners is not only to make an energy drink pleasant to drink, but also to mask some of the more unpleasant taste of the other ingredients contained in the product, like caffeine, which can be quite bitter.
However, if you are a vegan, the thought of ingesting Splenda may go against your morals since the company that produces this ingredient has been known to test it on animals.
The supplements include nootropics (brain-boosters), an energy supplement (taurine), and vitamins (multivitamin complex). The vitamins include E, C, K1, B1, B2, B6, B9, B12, potassium, magnesium, zinc, and calcium.
The nootropics in X-Gamer are L-tyrosine and L-carnitine, which are amino acids that are purported to be able to improve memory, reaction time, concentration, alertness, and other cognitive functions.
However, the efficacy of these ingredients is doubtful since caffeine on its own is a pretty powerful nootropic, and is scientifically proven to enhance your mind in various ways which pretty much renders these other ingredients pointless.
Moreover, we don’t know how many of them are in the formulation and the correct measurements are needed to ensure they are actually effective if at all since more research needs to be done to validate whether L-tyrosine and L-carnitine even work.
On the topic of vitamins, too much of them does not necessarily mean you will suddenly feel healthier. Unlike mana potions in popular fantasy MMORPGs, they do not magically extend your lifespan or heal your injuries, you still need proper nutrition, exercise, and rest for that.
The research on taurine, on the other hand, is still pretty much inconclusive, although some evidence shows that it may improve athletic performance. Although I would say this supplement is basically just playing second fiddle especially anytime caffeine is there to steal the show.
The electrolytes used in is dextrose monohydrate, which is actually commonly used in medical situations to revive patients who have been severely dehydrated and malnourished.
This ingredient may offset some of the diuretic effects of caffeine and allows your body to retain more fluids, especially if you need to concentrate on a game without pausing just to go take a bathroom break.
The preservatives used in X-Gamer are ascorbic acid and citric acid. These preservatives serve to improve the texture, color, flavor, and lifespan of the product so that it does not separate or go bad after a certain period of time
Fortunately, these ingredients have been declared safe by the FDA, so there’s really nothing wrong with consuming them.
X-Gamer Nutrition Facts
X-Gamer contains 129 calories, 0.02g of fat, 3g of carbs, 0.2g of added sugar, and contains zero sodium. It is also rich in over 27 vitamins and minerals.
I find that X-Gamer is much healthier than a lot of energy supplements in the market. While 129 calories aren’t that low, it’s still much lower than a lot of other energy drinks in the market, but if your goal involves a low-calorie diet then I suggest you try a different brand.
Does X-Gamer Work?
X-Gamer claims to be able to do three things for you: shield your body, sharpen your mind and support your energy. It does this through a proprietary multivitamin complex, nootropics, and caffeine.
X-Gamer claims to shield your body, presumably from getting sick. This is attributed to the 27 multivitamin complex in the formulation that will apparently maintain or restore your health.
However, there is no evidence that proves multivitamins make you healthier, in fact, studies show that it may have more adverse effects than benefits.
X-Gamer also claims to be able to sharpen your mind through the special blend of nootropics L-tyrosine and L-carnitine. However, there are very few studies that prove the efficacy of these ingredients. Caffeine on its own is enough to enhance your cognitive performance tenfold.
Finally, X-Gamer claims to be able to support your energy through the combination of a vitamin cocktail consisting of vitamins B2, B3, B5, and B6.
While these vitamins are important to maintain the biological processes that are responsible for energy production, they are often supplied through a regular diet, and consuming more of them won’t do anything extra for you unless you’re deficient.
Is X-Gamer Bad for You?
X-Gamer pros include being low in calories, low in carbs and added sugar, low in fat and containing zero sodium. X-Gamer cons include containing a high amount of caffeine and too many vitamins.
Based on these facts alone, X-Gamer is probably not that bad for you if you drink it in moderation. However, the 200mg caffeine per serving can be concerning, especially since two sachets can easily make you go over the caffeine limit.
Moreover, it should go without saying that pregnant women, teens under 18 years old, and those with underlying medication conditions like high blood pressure should stay away from caffeine. Some medications can also interact negatively with caffeine, so it’s best that you discuss this with your physician.
Is X-Gamer Vegan-Friendly and Gluten-Free?
Most energy drinks do not have official vegan and gluten-free labels that indicate that they are safe for vegans to drink. X-Gamer is not certified vegan or gluten-free, but our analysis has concluded that it may be safe for vegans and those with gluten allergies.
There doesn’t seem to be any animal-based products in the ingredients list. However, X-Gamer does not have an official Vegan label, which means that the brand either did not apply to get certified or it failed the certification process.
Vegan labels are normally only awarded by vegan certification agencies like Vegan.org which have a strict set of guidelines for what constitutes a purely vegan product.
One area where X-Gamer may have flunked is sucralose or more specifically Splenda, which in case you didn’t know has a dark history involving animal testing and cruelty, which is very anti-vegan.

As for the gluten-free issue, we didn’t find any wheat-based products in the ingredients, so it’s probably safe for those with gluten allergies, although it’s best to consult a physician if you’re not sure.
How much X-Gamer Should You Drink?
This question includes how many cans you should drink in a day and whether you can drink X-Gamer every day. As a general rule of thumb, you should not drink more than one 10g serving of X-Gamer, purely from the caffeine content alone.
While the sugar and calorie content are fine and other ingredients don’t seem to pose that much of a problem, 200mg of caffeine per serving seems like a lot, especially if drinking more than one sachet quickly puts you at the maximum intake level as per FDA recommendations.
While true caffeine overdoses are rare since you need to drink approximately 10g of caffeine to truly earn a visit to the emergency room, most people will and have experienced violent and fatal side effects from far less. Energy drinks have caused many hospitalizations and deaths, so it’s important to monitor your intake.
Moreover, drinking caffeine too frequently, in general, is not advised since it can lead to caffeine withdrawal and tolerance.
In summation, one of the more worrying things about X-Gamer is the caffeine content, since everything else about the product seems to be ok. At this point, it’s all a matter of whether any of the other ingredients work or not because frankly speaking, I think it’s all just fluff.
The nootropics, the vitamins, the minerals, these may simply be to drive up the price since caffeine on its own can pretty much give you everything you need, even though I don’t recommend you relying on it for extended periods of time.
As a final recommendation, you should not take more than one sachet of X-Gamer a day and you should also avoid drinking it every day in order to avoid developing a dependence on the caffeine and experiencing terrible withdrawals as a result.
