Let’s dive into it…

Zero sugar and zero caffeine content make this a go-to beverage for many. In most drinks, there’s no sugar but still, brands infuse a large dose of carbs which serves the same purpose as sugars, making such beverages not the best choice for everyone.

Since most individuals prefer not to take drinks containing carbs, they have a hard time finding a drink of their choice. With Xtend, you shouldn’t worry about getting a high spike in sugar level. Additionally, there’s a wide range of zero sugar flavors which makes it easier to choose one that best suits your taste buds.

Another thing that makes this drink stand out is its zero-calorie content. If you want to keep your calorie content low, you should consider this drink.

Does XTEND Carbonated Contain Caffeine?

caffeine source
There are different variants of Xtend, so you can choose based on your preference.

Interestingly, there’s no source of caffeine in this beverage. If you can’t tolerate caffeine and are looking for a pre-workout that doesn’t make you feel jittery, this is something you should definitely go for.

However, if you prefer drinks with high caffeine doses, Xtend has a wide range to offer that as well. For instance, their Go-To and C4 variants have a caffeine range of 200mg to 300mg.

You should keep in mind that the FDA recommends keeping your caffeine intake below 400mg. If you’re a healthy adult, I’d recommend taking drinks with 200mg to 300mg of caffeine. With high caffeine doses, the following symptoms might start appearing;

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Headache
  • Dehydration
  • Sleeplessness
  • High caffeine tolerance
  • Stomach issues

When you’re new to caffeine, it might cause these health problems. However, it’ll make you more tolerant of caffeine with time. And to get a sustained focus and energy, you’ll need to take a high caffeine dose every time.

Therefore, I’d advise you to keep your intake as low as possible.

The ratio of BCAAs in XTEND

If you compare Xtend with other amino drinks, you’ll find a proven ratio of BCAAs in this beverage. The 2:1:1 ratio is proven to provide you with recovery and repair.

This is the ratio of the BCAA’s in Xtend;

  • Leucine (3.5g)
  • Isoleucine (1.75g)
  • Valine (1.75g)

To date, there’s only one research that backs these claims. Let’s have a look at their benefits;

  • Build up of muscles
  • Decreased fatigue

We can say Xtend is a pre-workout amino drink that fuels recovery and reduces fatigue. It might work better than ON’s amino drink due to its proven amino acid ratio.

Is XTEND Drink Sugar-Free?

Xtend doesn’t contain sugar or carbs, making it suitable for diabetics.

Luckily, all variants of Xtend come with no sugar options. Most other supplements are overly infused with sugar and carbs. However, that’s not the case with Xtend. It doesn’t contain even 1 gram of carbs making it a great replacement for other amino beverages.

You probably know that there’s an adequate dose of sodium in the drink, making it a bit salty and there are two sugar substitutes, Ace K and Sucralose, that make beverages a bit less salty. These substitutes are artificial and are zero on calories. But it gives artificial flavoring to the beverage which you might not like.

Which Electrolytes are in XTEND?

Xtend has three electrolytes that perform similar functions in your body.

To keep you hydrated while working out, Xtend has a large dose of electrolytes. An 1140 milligram electrolyte blend contains two kinds of sodium (citrate and chloride) and potassium.

Since every drink has different electrolytes, your experience with them might differ. Due to a large amount of sodium, you’ll find this drink salty as compared to other amino drinks.

Potassium Functions

  • Regulate fluid balance
  • Improve nerve function
  • Direct impact on muscle contraction
  • Good for reducing blood pressure
  • Reduce stroke risks

Sodium Functions

  • Relax muscles
  • Balance minerals in the body
  • Good for low blood pressure
  • Improve nerve system

How Many XTEND Should You Drink In A Day?

In my perspective, one serving of Xtend would be enough to provide you with hydration and recovery. Most individuals think that taking two servings of non-caffeine drinks will not cause any nasty effects. Let me tell you that it’s not true!

If you look at the doses of other ingredients in two servings, they’ll be more than what health authorities suggest and you should also consider all artificial flavors and chemicals you’ll be consuming with two cans. Therefore, it is recommended that you should never go beyond one serving of Xtend.

XTEND Energy Vs C4 Carbonated

Both Xtend and C4 carbonated have huge differences when it comes to their caffeine level. For flavors, both have a wide range of sugar-free variants to offer.

There’s no caffeine in Xtend carbonated. While in the case of C4, you get two options; one with 200 milligrams and the other with 300 milligrams

Another variant of the beverage offers you a moderate dosage of caffeine (125 milligrams). In my opinion, no brand has this many options.

Here’s a list of flavors of both the variants;

Xtend Carbonated

  • Blue Raspberry
  • Glacial Grape
  • Kiwi Berry Blast
  • Black cherry

C4 Carbonated

  • Purple Frost
  • Tropical Blast
  • Orange Slice
  • Strawberry Watermelon ice

Can You Drink XTEND throughout the Day?

You shouldn’t drink caffeinated drinks right before sleeping time.

Since Xtend doesn’t contain caffeine, you can take it any time of the day you need to hydrate yourself. In the case of the caffeinated version, you should take them 8 hours before sleeping time. I’m telling you this on the basis of my personal experience.

When you drink coffee or energy drinks at night, It won’t let you sleep. Also, if you’ve taken a higher dose it’ll make you feel tired by blocking your neurotransmitters.

XTEND Age Limit

The label states that this beverage isn’t suitable for those with any health problems. Also, those under 18 should not have this.

It’s better to consult your doctor before adding this to your diet. There are chances that amino acids might interact with your medication if you are taking any.

I’d rate Xtend with 8/10.

Whether you’re an athlete, work addict, or a full-time parent, Xtend can be your go-to drink in any case considering there are no caffeine, low caffeine and wide range of flavors to choose from.

Also, zero sugar and carbs make this beverage a better choice among other amino supplement options. If you’re taking the zero caffeine variant, you shouldn’t expect it to provide you with much energy.

It’ll only provide you with recovery and hydration without leaving you crashed. Since it’s full of electrolytes, you might find it noticeably salty.

The only downside to this beverage is its artificial taste. Since there’s a blend of artificial sweeteners and flavors, it’ll taste like chemicals.
