If you don’t drink caffeine regularly, you may find Lit a difficult choice due to its high caffeine content (250 milligrams).

Other Ingredients

  • Sodium (20mg)
  • Potassium (90mg)
  • Sucralose
  • Natural & Artificial flavors
  • Citric Acid

In one LIT drink serving, you get 250mg of caffeine, which can cause jitters and crashes.

In addition, all other ingredients are below the recommended dosage, including Beta-alanine and amino acids.

However, when combined, these ingredients can have slightly stronger effects.

It is therefore recommended that you limit your intake of LIT to once a week.

Calories in LIT

LIT beverage
LIT Energy Drink

LIT is one of the beverages in the market that comes with low-calorie content. One serving has only 20 calories, making LIT an ideal choice for those who follow a strict diet.

There’s no sugar in LIT, as you probably already know. That’s also what keeps the calorie content of this energy drink low.

You need different amounts of calories depending on your gender, height, and weight. However, the average calorie requirement is between 2000 and 3000 calories

If you take one can of LIT energy a day, it won’t add much to your calorie intake

Carbs in LIT Energy?

According to the label of LIT drink, there are only four grams of carbs. Red Bull has 11 grams of carbs per 100 grams, which is a lot more than LIT’s carb content.

What are carbs and why are they necessary for your body?

Carbs are sugars that your body converts to glucose. Some people believe they make you gain weight. There is no scientific evidence to support this belief.

Four grams of carbs in Lit have 16 calories, which you can easily burn out during exercise.

These are the functions of carbohydrates:

  • Increase in energy
  • Better sleep
  • Best for athletic performance
  • Good for memory and mood

The scientific facts say that carbohydrates should account for at least 45 percent of your daily calorie intake.

What does Potassium do?

Since LIT contains a sufficient amount of sodium, which negatively affects your blood pressure, Potassium counters some of these effects.

An energy drink rich in potassium has other benefits as well. Such as:

  • Improvement in muscles
  • Significant role in bone health
  • Regulation of sugar
  • Less tiredness

Because you get only 90mg of Potassium in one can of LIT, there won’t be any side effects on your health. For adults, however, a dose of 4700 milligrams of potassium is adequate.

Is Beyond Raw LIT Drink Sugar-Free?

sugar in LIT
How much sugar is in LIT drink?

If you prefer energy drinks with zero sugar content, Lit drink might be worth considering since it falls in the same category. With this drink, diabetics and people who are sugar sensitive won’t have to worry about the effects of sugar

There is no guarantee that sugar-free drinks will not be sweet. Surprisingly, they’re sweeter than those containing added sugar.

Take a look at what makes them that way.

Artificial Sweeteners

You may have heard the term ‘artificial sweetener’ before. If not, let me explain it to you.

Sugar-free supplements and energy drinks usually contain artificial sweeteners as sugar substitutes. Even energy drinks containing added sugar also have these sweeteners.

Vitamins or other nutrients may leave an aftertaste. This is why brands use sweeteners to reduce the aftertaste.

As for LIT Energy Drink, it contains calorie-free sweetener Sucralose. This sweetener is FDA-approved, so you shouldn’t have any safety concerns.

As long as you don’t use it in baking or cooking, it’s safe.

Pump & N.O. Support

Pump & N.O. Support in LIT Drinks

Pump and Nitric Oxide formula in LIT helps you in exercise and muscle growth. There are 4.5 grams of amino acids in this product, including L-Arginine and L-Citrulline.

Here is an overview of these BCAAs:

L-Citrulline

In one serving of Lit, you get three grams of L-Citrulline. According to this research, this type of amino acid promotes nitric oxide production in the body. It’s essential for inner muscle relaxation.

Here are a few of the benefits of L-Cit:

  • Reduction in fatigue
  • Muscle strength
  • Improvement in heart functioning

However, you should keep your daily intake of L-Citrulline between 3 and 7g. Excessive consumption of this will not have any adverse effects like other amino acids do. However, do not take more than 7 grams at a time.

L-Arginine

L-Arginine, which is commonly found in foods, is present in LIT in 1.5 grams. The majority of energy supplements contain a fusion of these two amino acids.

Maintaining a healthy immune system is one of the benefits of L-Arginine. However, no information is available regarding its recommended dose. L-Arginine can cause stomach issues if taken in excess, as most amino acids do.

Energy & Mental Intensity Fusion

Energy & mental intensity is another fusion in Lit drinks. With 3.7g of caffeine, beta-alanine, and other stimulants, you’ll have plenty of energy.

Here’s a detailed description of these ingredients.

Caffeine in LIT Drink (Content & Type)

Caffeine in Lit Drink?

In one serving of LIT, you get 250mg of caffeine anhydrous, which is a dehydrated form of caffeine. This is the processed variant of caffeine that doesn’t contain any water.

This is the only difference you may find between regular and anhydrous caffeine. Otherwise, it comes with the same benefits and side effects. Meaning 250mg is still the highest dose of caffeine no matter what type it belongs to.

This is the same amount of caffeine as two and a half cups of coffee. The recommended daily caffeine intake for healthy individuals is 400mg

You may experience severe side effects such as jitters and crashes if you consume this higher dose of caffeine every day.

Regularly consuming high levels of caffeine may lead to the following negative effects:

  • Headache
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Nervousness
  • Dizziness
  • Stomach problems

If you’re looking for a pre-workout drink with stimulant effects, Lit might be worth considering. However, you should only take this drink once a week.

Does Beta-Alanine make you tingly?

Taking LIT drinks for the first time may cause you to experience tingles in your body. This is because this energy drink has 3.2 grams of Beta-alanine.

It is clear that this ingredient has so many health benefits, including boosting the the athletic performance. Also, it is an antioxidant. However, it is impossible to ignore the tingling sensation that comes with higher doses of Beta-alanine.

Some people confuse this tingling with allergies when they take supplements containing beta-alanine. In general, the higher the dosage of Beta-alanine, the more severe the side effects.

With the lower dosage, it does not appear to cause this problem. You shouldn’t consume more than 4 to 5 grams of beta-alanine per day.

As LIT contains a moderate amount of Beta-alanine, there shouldn’t be any negative effects. However, that’s not the case. Some consumers experience severe tingling with one serving of LIT, which lasts for days. People who are sensitive to ingredients with stimulant effects should stay away from LIT.

elevATP in LIT

elevATP in LIT

elevATP is one of the ingredients that increases your athletic performance capacity. You get 150mg of this stimulant ingredient in one serving of Lit.

There is no information about elevATP’s safe dosage. Nevertheless, the use of elevATP has no known side effects.

An experiment shows that taking 150mg of this ingredient increases the amount of ATP in blood cells. Having this exact amount in LIT may enable you to work out longer than usual.

Watch this video to have a better understanding of elevATP.

What is elevATP?

Neuro Factor

Furthermore, LIT contains 100mg of Coffea Arabica and fruit extract, which LIT labels as Neuro factor.

Coffee Arabica or Arabian coffee originates in Ethiopia. It is considered to be the best source of caffeine. In addition, its sweet and unique flavor makes it very popular.

Can you use LIT as a Regular Energy Drink?

workout drink
LIT Energy as a pre=workout drink

Do not think that LIT is the same as other energy drinks you consume regularly. It contains 250mg caffeine and other ingredients with stimulant effects.

It would work great if you take it as a pre-workout once a week. Certainly, it will increase your ability to work out. In any case, taking this higher dose of caffeine can adversely affect your health.

Additionally, it contains beta-alanine that leaves a sensation and tingling in your body. In case you’re new to energy drinks, these side effects may make you hate energy drinks forever.

Also, I won’t recommend taking any energy drinks daily due to all the artificial flavors and additives in them. Instead, you should consider consuming natural energizers or low-stim drinks. Green teas are also valid options.

LIT Energy Drink (Powder Vs Drinks)

As you may know, LIT is also available as a powdered supplement. When it comes to ingredients and flavors, you won’t see any difference.

There is however a difference in the amount of a few ingredients. In the case of a drink, you get 20 calories while in the case of a supplement, you get 10 calories.

You also get one fewer carb in the supplement compared to the drink.

Despite their similarities, both are highly caffeinated, making them intolerable for most people.

Supplements have the advantage of allowing you to reduce the amount of powder. Additionally, powder costs less than the drink per serving.

Caffeine-sensitive people or those with health issues should avoid both energy drinks and supplements.

Final Thoughts

LIT is the highest caffeinated drink, containing 250mg of caffeine. Energy drinks with this much higher caffeine content don’t appeal to me personally.

You might want to consider LIT if you have a high caffeine tolerance and are looking for a pre-workout drink. However, I will not recommend taking this drink if your only intention is to concentrate while gaming or studying. You can find other less caffeinated drinks that are just as effective.

Moreover, this beverage contains Beta-alanine, which may cause tingling or sensations in your body.

Lit drinks have several positive aspects as well. For example, they are sugar-free and have very low-calorie content. Another thing that sets them apart is their good taste.

In general, it’s a good pre-workout drink. Don’t take it more than once a week to avoid feeling drained.
