Nutrition Facts of Nerd Focus

Nerd contains 128 mg of caffeine, well below the FDA’s recommended dose. According to FDA recommendations, you shouldn’t consume more than 40 mg of caffeine daily.

Additionally, Nerd has an adequate amount of sodium which is 105mg. According to the FDA, 140 mg of sodium in a serving is considered a low amount.

What is sodium, and why does your body need it?

It’s salt that you’re supposed to consume every day. This increases the rate at which your body absorbs fluids, thereby keeping you hydrated.

Nerd also contains an organic sodium salt, sodium benzoate, used for preservation purposes.

To function correctly, your body and brain need an adequate amount of sodium. It improves your memory concentration and helps when working out in the heat.

It may work differently for each athlete, so you should limit your daily intake to 1500mg.

Does Nerd Focus Have Caffeine?

brewed coffee
Caffeine in Nerd Focus

Nerd Focus contains a very moderate amount of caffeine, 128mg, about the same as one and a half cups of coffee since caffeine is a plain drug that you may find in every energy drink and supplement.

The caffeine you’ll get from a 330ml can of Nerd has no adverse effects on your body or brain. Instead, you’ll get very subtle and significant results by consuming it.

Additionally, Nerd contains the caffeine-containing ingredient Guarana. If you talk about its effects, you’ll get more stimulation and focus than coffee from it. However, Nerd only contains 37.5mg of this coffee bean-sized seed, so you won’t possibly get any crashes.

However, I’ll recommend you consume only one serving a day if you don’t want to become a caffeine addict.

Sugar and Carbohydrates

Sugar in Nerd Focus

Since Nerd comes in two variants, one with sugar and one without sugar, you should go for the sugar-free one if you don’t want to experience any jitters or crashes.

Each serving of Nerd contains 42g of carbohydrates and 42g of added sugar. Compared to the recommended dose of sugar, which is 25 grams for women and 36 grams for men, Nerd has more sugar.

Additionally, carbohydrates break down into sugar, which serves as an energy source. When you consume simple carbohydrates, you’re more likely to overeat, leading to weight gain.

Sugar added to foods is different from sugar that comes naturally from food. Unlike naturally found sugar, it doesn’t contain nutrients.

Besides that, Nerd also contains Sucralose, an artificial sweetener that is much sweeter than sugar. Artificial sweeteners have zero calories, so they won’t cause you to gain weight.

Since Nerd contains more sugar than the recommended dosage, I strictly refuse to recommend it to diabetics. I would recommend their sugar-free focus drink instead.

How Much Sugar is too much?

Flavors

When it comes to the flavors of Nerd Focus, you won’t find so many choices. Their drinks come in original and zero-calorie flavors. Each flavor contains essential vitamins and a moderate amount of caffeine and sodium.

Both the flavors contain almost the same ingredients and their quantities. However, the only difference is the number of calories, sugar, and sodium.

There is no sugar and calories in zero-calorie flavor. The original flavor contains 170 calories and 42g of sugar.

If you’ve any health issues or you don’t want to face any sugar crashes, the zero-calorie flavor would be an ideal choice for you.
