Zipfizz’s nutritional values.

Zipfizz contains significant amounts of several vitamins; some are enough or more than enough to fulfill a person’s daily requirement. This is why the manufacturers also advertise it to be a supplement.

Caffeine in Zipfizz

Zipfizz has a higher than moderate caffeine content of 100mg
A cup of coffee has around 80 mg of caffeine in it.

A tube of Zipfizz contains 100mg of caffeine.

While this may seem higher than the average amount on paper, it isn’t. This is because a Zipfizz is meant to be mixed in with around 16-20 oz. of water. So considering the size of a serving, it isn’t as high as it may seem to be.
This makes it an excellent option for caffeine-sensitive people or people who don’t need huge bursts of energy at once and prefer to have a slow boost.
With caffeine content like this, you don’t have to worry about the side effects and focus on the benefits of caffeine.

Benefits:

Caffeine in the proper doses, i.e., under 400mg (which is the limit set by the FDA), caffeine can be a great drug that can make your life easier. Here are some of its benefits:

  • Could help with weight loss
  • Make you more alert or wakeful
  • Reduces your sense of fatigue
  • Boosts both physical and mental performances
  • Could reduce risk of illneses like Type 2 Diabetes, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s, along with several forms of cancer.

Risks:

Caffeine is somewhat of a double-edged sword, as it can either radically increase your productivity or dramatically reduce it, depending on the amount you ingest.

Here are some symptoms of caffeine overdose:

  • Insomia
  • Restlessness
  • Diarrhea
  • Headaches
  • Dehydration
  • Jitters
  • High blood pressuure and irregular hearbeats

So, it is best to limit your consumption of Zipfizz to no more than 2 or 3 tubes in a day, but if you drink more than a couple of cups of coffee or tea each day, you should only drink one box.

Vitamins and Minerals in Zipfizz

Zipfizz’s main selling point, in my opinion, is that it contains not just the standard B-Vitamins that are in any energy drink, but it also has vitamins A, C, and E, along with minerals and electrolytes.

Vitamins

Here’s an easy to read table which shows the benefits of each type of vitamin in Zipfizz:

Vitamins are essential for us, and Zipfizz has an abundance of them
Zipfizz has 7 B-vitamins, as well as Vitamins A, C and E.
VitaminBenefits
B VitaminsHelp in a variety of bodily functions, from harvesting energy from carbohydrates and fats and breaking down amino acids to transporting nutrients and oxygen throughout the body.
Vitamin APreserves eye health supports the immune system and bone health while reducing the risk of acne, and even some forms of cancer.
Vitamin CIs necessary for the growth and repair of tissues and cells, and is good for the skin and the immune system. It also reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Vitamin E Is an antioxidant, helps with the management of diabetes, and is good for the skin.
Vitamins in Zipfizz and their benefits.

All of these vitamins are in large enough doses to fulfill your daily requirements and so Zipfizz can also be considered a vitamin supplement in a way.

Natural Extracts

Apart from the vitamins, Zipfizz also has four natural extracts, which are listed below along with their benefits:

Extract of:Benefit/s:
Guarana Is rich in antioxidants reduces fatigue and improves focus because it contains caffeine, etc.
Green teaCould be good for the brain and heart, promote weight loss and reduce the risk of cancer. It is also good for the skin.
Ginger rootIs high in anti-inflammatory and antioxidant substances, can be good for the digestive system, and more
GrapeseedImproves blood flow and helps control blood pressure. Is also good for bone health and collagen production and more.
Natural extracts in Zipfizz.

We don’t know the exact quantities of these extracts, so it could be that there aren’t any significant amounts. Although, since they are a major marketing factor for the drink, it’s safe to assume that there is at least some quantity of these extracts.

Electrolytes

Zipfizz also has sodium, calcium, magnesium, and potassium, etc. as electrolytes, which are also substances that are important for our bodies.

Electrolyte imbalance can be a cause for many problems, and it could negatively affect the way our bodies work. The imbalance can sometimes be a result of profuse sweating.

So the balance must be maintained. Zipfizz can help you with this if you’re drinking it during or after a workout.

Does ZipFizz have any calories in it?

One thing I like about Zipfizz, apart from the delicious taste, is that it has almost no calories.

A tube of Zipfizz has a negligible number of calories, that is 20 calories.

What this means is that – unlike with many energy drinks like Monster and Rockstar, which come in similar serving sizes yet contain a large number of calories – you don’t have to worry about Zipfizz contributing unwantingly to your daily caloric consumption.

You see, many people out there are already living in a caloric surplus, which means that they usually consume more calories than they need, which increases the chances of said calories being converted to fat, which in turn causes weight gain.

Consuming more calories than it should over a long time can cause a person to become obese, which can create many problems later on in their life. Some of these problems are:

  • High blood pressure and high cholestrol levels
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Heart diseases and stroke
  • A decline in mental health
  • Difficulty in moving about
  • Many different types of cancer

Thus, it is highly advised that you avoid any extra calories and Zipfizz helps you a ton in this endeavor.

Does ZipFizz have any sugar in it?

My favorite thing about Zipfizz is that it doesn’t have any sugar at all.

The great thing about an energy drink with no sugar is that the rush of energy that you from it is much cleaner and stable as compared to what you would get from a sugary energy drink.

With sugary energy drinks, you may get a big spike in your energy levels as you drink them, but when the sugar leaves your system, it will leave you drained of energy and lethargic in a sugar crash.

A sugar-free energy drink like Zipfizz gives you an energy boost and doesn’t make you crash in this way, which means you can continue working despite the energy drink’s effects having been worn off.

It’s also safe for people with diabetes to drink it, which is another huge plus point.

Artificial Sweeteners In ZipFizz

Instead of sugar, Zipfizz uses the artificial sweeteners Xylitol and Sucralose.

Both sweeteners are certified to be safe for consumption by the FDA so there is no need to be worried about them being bad for you.

Sucralose is the most commonly used artificial sweetener and is sold under the name Splenda. It is around 500-700 times sweeter than regular sugar.

As for Xylitol, it is a naturally occurring sweetener that is found in certain fruits and vegetables. It is also several hundred times sweeter than sugar but has a similar taste.

Another notable aspect of these sweeteners is that they don’t have any calories, which is the reason why Zipfizz can have such a low-calorie content.

ZipFizz And Vitamin B-12 Overdose

Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin that is essential to many bodily processes

Zipfizz contains 2500mg of Cyanocobalamin or Vitamin B12, which is more than 41,000 times the amount that is recommended daily.

This is more than what is given to Vitamin B12 deficient people through injections. So, is it safe to consume so much Vitamin B12?

Actually, according to this article by The Insider, it is really hard to overdose on Vitamin B12, because our bodies only absorb a small fraction of it. The excess is released from the body along with urine.

This is because Vitamin B12 gets dissolved in water, which makes it easy for it to be flushed out if needed.

Although rare, some people may experience these side effects after ingesting high doses (like in Zipfizz) of Vitamin B12:

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness
  • Headaches
  • Irritated skin
  • Fatigue
  • A kind of tingling in hands and feet

So it is best to keep in mind that if you have a history of experiencing side effects after taking Vitamin B12 injections, then it’s best if you don’t consume Zipfizz (Advocare Spark is another great energy powder if you’re wondering)

Also, I would advise you to avoid consuming anything very high in Vitamin B12 for the rest of the day, if you happen to drink a Zipfizz or two.

Does Zipfizz actually work?

Zipfizz does indeed work, as it contains a good 100mg of caffeine. This much should be able to provide a potent kick to most people (except those who have high caffeine tolerance. If you need a clean boost but with more caffeine, try Celsius On-The-Go).

As if the boost weren’t enough, Zipfizz also has a plethora of other helpful and essential ingredients such as B-Vitamins, Vitamins A, C, and E, four natural extracts, and electrolytes that will help in improving your overall health and fitness.

By drinking Zipfizz, you can fulfill your daily vitamin requirements, maintain an electrolyte balance throughout the body, while the natural caffeine will give you a slow and steady increase in physical and mental performance.

Is Zipfizz bad for you?

Zipfizz is without a doubt one of the safest energy drinks in the entire market because it contains no sugar and calories.

That’s not all there is to it, though. One thing that could be concerning for some people is the mind-blowing amount of Vitamin B12 that is included in a single Zipfizz tube. But it is water-soluble and should be safe for most people to consume.

The caffeine too could be a bit high for caffeine-sensitive people, but only if they drink a 16-20 ml bottle all at once. If taken in two or more servings, Zipfizz’s caffeine content is comparable to that in a soft drink, and so caffeine-sensitive people can still enjoy it.

All in all, Zipfizz won’t be bad for you unless you decide to go overboard and drink more than one or two of it.

But like all things in life, Zipfizz isn’t perfect. It has its share of pros and cons, which are:

Pros of Zipfizz

The notable pros of Zipfizz are:

  • No sugar
  • Minimal calories
  • A wide variety of flavors
  • A plethora of vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes
  • You can prepare it yourself. Whether you like a more concentrated taste, or a more diluted one, you can choose for yourself
  • A moderate amount of caffeine

Cons of Zipfizz

Zipfizz may have many plus points, but that doesn’t mean it’s free of flaws. Here are Zipfizz’s cons:

  • Immensly high Vitamin B12 contents
  • The caffeine content may not be enough for people with more tolerance to it.
  • Some people might not like the large 16-20 oz serving size, and would prefer a smaller serving size for convenience.
  • The price might be a bit high in some people’s opinion (but I think it’s worth it)

Zipfizz’s Flavors

As if being filled to the brim with awesome ingredients wasn’t enough, Zipfizz also comes in a dozen fun flavors, which means that there is a very low chance that someone doesn’t like Zipfizz’s taste.

Here is a list of available flavors:

  • Orange soda
  • Fruit punch
  • Grape
  • Lemon iced tea
  • Pink lemonade
  • Berry
  • Blueberry raspberry
  • Black cherry
  • Citrus
  • Pink grapefruit
  • Orange cream

The best flavors among these are probably the Orange Soda, which reminds you of good ol’ Tang, Black Cherry, and Fruit Punch. But that doesn’t mean that the other flavors are bad.

One of the best things about Zipfizz is that every flavor is good in its own way.

Final Review

Considering everything that we’ve talked about in this article, I will be giving Zipfizz a rating of 9 out of 10.

I’ve deduced one point for the over-the-top B12 Vitamin content, which could be harmful to some people, but apart from that, I can’t find any flaws in this energy powder. I haven’t considered the taste in the final rating, as it is a very subjective matter.

There are some areas in which some people would have opinions contrary to my own like some people could want higher or lower caffeine, but for me, Zipfizz is an incredible energy drink mix.

It is potent, healthy, safe, clean, and doesn’t make you crash. What more could a guy want?
