A can of Arizona energy drink
Arizona can be an energy drink that you consume occasionally

Arizona is a vegan, kosher, gluten-free, and all-natural energy drink, it can be quite healthy for you as it includes so many health-beneficial ingredients like Panax Ginseng. However, Arizona energy drink also uses 19 to 37g of sugar per serving along with High Fructose Corn Syrup, which can be one of the most dangerous artificial sweeteners.

In addition, I personally don’t like huge doses of sugar as it gives me crashes, nonetheless, if you do prefer such large contents of sugar in your energy drink, Arizona Energy drink can fit the bill.

Arizona energy drink offers a limited number of versions which include Green Tea, Sweet Tea, Lemon Tea, Arnold Palmer, and Rx Energy.

All the Arizona Energy drinks include large contents of sugar as well as calories, so if you consume even one can, you may experience mild side effects linked with excess sugar intake.

Review Of Arizona Energy Drink

While all the Arizona energy drinks are created with many health-beneficial ingredients and vitamins with a moderate dose of caffeine, however, they really butchered the drinks by including large contents of sugar.

Caffeine Content In Arizona Energy Drink

A can of Arizona energy drink
All the products of Arizona have low to moderate contents of caffeine

Caffeine is the main ingredient of energy drinks, there’re very few energy drinks that don’t include any contents of caffeine, however, most of the energy drinks do, even with low contents.

While Arizona Rx Energy has 175 mg of caffeine, Arizona Lemon Tea, Arizona Green Tea, Arizona Sweet Tea, and Arizona Arnold Palmer Black include 7.5 mg to 30 mg of caffeine.

Arizona includes moderate content of caffeine considering the daily recommended dose. According to the FDA, you should limit your daily dose of caffeine to 400 mg or less.

Thus, even if you drink more than one serving of Arizona Rx Energy, there’s no chance that you’ll experience caffeine-related side effects which may include:

  • Restlessness.
  • Shakiness.
  • Insomnia.
  • Headaches.
  • Dizziness.
  • Fast heart rate.
  • Dehydration.
  • Anxiety.
  • Dependency.

In addition, if you’re sensitive to caffeine or prefer low-caffeinated energy drinks, you can drink other products in Arizona as they include 7.5 mg to 30 mg of caffeine per serving.

However, if you’re caffeine sensitive, I still wouldn’t recommend you to overconsume these low-caffeinated Arizona energy drinks as it could possibly lead to some mild side effects which include:

  • Rapid heartbeat.
  • Headache.
  • Jitters.
  • Nervousness.
  • Having anxiety.
  • Restlessness.
  • Insomnia.

The prime takeaway should be that, whether you have a high tolerance to caffeine or not, you should always keep its consumption within the limits.

Sugar Content In Arizona Energy Drink

Sugar may be the sweetest ingredient, but it certainly isn’t the healthiest one. Sugar is included in energy drinks often in large doses which have been associated with side effects that could lead to a heart attack.

Unfortunately, Arizona is one of those energy drink brands that include immoderate doses of sugar. Arizona energy drinks include 19 g to 37 g of sugar per serving; Arizona Green Tea has 25 g, Arizona Lemon Tea 35 g, Arizona Arnold Palmer Black has 19 g, Arizona Sweet Tea has 32 g, and Arizona Rx Energy has 37 g.

Even though the sugar dose of Arizona Arnold Palmer Black is within the recommended limit, it’s still a large dose for one serving.

According to the AHA, women, and men can have 24 g (6 teaspoons) and 36 g (9 teaspoons) of sugar per day, however more than that and in a chronic manner can easily lead to side effects which include:

  • Headaches.
  • Irritability.
  • Fatigue.
  • Difficulty concentrating.
  • Feeling jittery.
  • Having anxiety.
  • Feeling shaky.
  • Dizziness.
  • Hunger.
  • Bloating.

While in severe cases, sugar can cause:

  • Higher blood pressure.
  • Inflammation.
  • Weight gain.
  • Higher risk of type 2 diabetes.
  • Prone to fatty liver disease.
  • Increased risk of stroke.

So even if you’re consuming one serving of Arizona Energy drink every day for a long period of time, it may increase your chances of side effects.

Artificial Sweetener In Arizona Energy Drink

Artificial sweeteners are quite popular in the energy drink industry, you’ll find them in almost every energy drink, moreover, the most common sweeteners are sucralose and High Fructose Corn Syrup.

While sucralose is a safe artificial sweetener, High Fructose Corn Syrup can give rise to a bunch of side effects. Unfortunately, all the products of Arizona energy include High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Among so many safe artificial sweeteners, Arizona chose to go with the most dangerous one. In addition, High Fructose Corn Syrup is known to cause type 2 diabetes, obesity, and liver disease.

Calories In Arizona Energy Drink

150 calories per serving are too many, which can cause weight gain

Calories are as important as any nutrient, you need them in moderation to live a healthy life, however, I don’t prefer you consume those calories from energy drinks.

Energy drinks include too many calories for example Arizona Rx Energy and Arizona Lemon Tea have 150 calories per serving. While Arizona Green Tea has 100, Arizona Arnold Palmer Black has 80 and Arizona Sweet Tea has 130 calories per serving.

I wouldn’t recommend you to consume more than one serving of Arizona energy drink as it can butcher your calorie count.

Many people have their own preferred calorie count, however, according to some research, women, and men can consume 2000 and 2500 calories every day.

Alternatives To Arizona Energy Drink

Arizona can be an energy drink that you drink if you don’t find any other one, nevertheless, I wouldn’t prefer to consume it every day as it’s extremely high in sugar and calories.

Therefore, here’s a list of some alternatives to Arizona energy drinks:

Conclusion

  • Arizona energy offers only a limited number of products, and every one of them includes High Fructose Corn Syrup which is a dangerous artificial sweetener.
  • That said, Arizona energy drink is created with many beneficial ingredients like Schisandra Extract that can improve your health.
  • Personally, I don’t like Arizona because all the products include large doses of sugar and calories.
